The Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprint Series would like to thank all those who helped make this past weekend's "Northern Tour" a success. The Northern Nationals at Superior and of course the Jerry Richert Memorial at Cedar Lake are both marquee events on the IRA schedule. Both proved to be outstanding shows. Terry McCarl's win at Superior gave him the lead in series wins with 4, while Brooke Tatnell's inspirational victory at Cedar Lake increased the number of 2009 IRA winners to 19 (in 26 races)! Defending IRA Champion and current point leader Bill Balog demonstrated to all in attendance why he sits on top of the IRA the past few years with a pair of outstanding charges. Tremendous action both nights throughout very talented A-main fields. Seeing the legendary Doug Wolfgang, and NASCAR celebrity Ray Evernham in the IRA pit area was pretty cool too. Special thanks to the core IRA teams for their tremendous support, as without it 410 racing in this region would not be possible. The track staffs at both venues provided great atmosphere and outstandingly prepared surfaces. And we can't thank the Richert family & friends enough for all they put into their event. We are extremely proud to be the host sanction.
