The B
Squared Motorsports team & driver Bill Balog had 2 nights scheduled this
past weekend with the IRA at Wilmot Raceway as part of the Kenosha County Fair.
Just as the team was pulling in to the track on Friday, rain showers hit the
speedway and forced a cancellation of night #1 on the weekend.
Saturday started off
well for Bill and the team, as he qualified 5th quick out of the 40
cars present. The 17B machine, would take the green from 5th place
in heat #1. At the drop of the green, Bill quickly began passing cars and was
up to 2nd place by the end of the first lap. By the end of the 10
laps, he had closed the gap on the leader but came up just short at the line
and had to settle for 2nd.
With the 5 pill
drawn for the feature inversion, Bill started the B Squared Motorsports 17B
from 6th place. Once the green flag flew, Bill once again was on a
march towards the front. He quickly raced his way in to 2nd place
and had his eyes set on race leader Todd Daun. The 2 lead cars of Balog and
Daun would swap positions lap after lap throughout the rest of the 30 lap race,
with Bill settling for 2nd at the checkers.
This coming weekend,
Bill and the team will be in action at the Oshkosh Speedzone on Friday and the
Rice Lake Speedway on Saturday. Bill now has a 231 point lead with 8 point
shows remaining on the schedule.
