Thanks to Greg Parent of GRP Motorsports, the opening weekend of racing
for the Upper Midwest Sprint Car Series (UMSS) will see the winner take
home $1,000 each night. The UMSS season gets underway Friday, April 24,
at Kopellah Speedway and continues Saturday, April 25, at Cedar Lake
Speedway for the Annual Billy Anderson Memorial Race.
"Greg is a
strong supporter of the UMSS and loves the sport of auto racing," says
Ron Bernhagen. "He helps out countless drivers, tracks and associations
with his own hard-earned money."
The Billy Anderson
Memorial honors the memory of Billy Anderson of Dayton, Minnesota, who
passed away as a result of complications from a sprint car acident in
June 1998 at Knoxville Raceway. Billy's career as a sprint car driver,
although brief, made a profound impact on the local racing scene.
