Saturday evening at Perris Auto Speed was the sight of David Cardey best finish of this young season. David arrived at the track and unloaded a familiar looking race car. Out of the trailer rolled the red #38 iTi Performance Motorsports, Viper Chassis race car that carried him to his exciting finish at last years Halloween Night win at the Oval Nationals.

 

David being the second to last car out to qualify placed himself in the 5th quick time out of 34 cars to start the evening. Starting on the outside of the 3^rd row in the first heat, David battled his way to a third place finish to assure his starting spot in the "A" Main.

 

Starting the main in the 6^th position David, held his position on the track for the first 10 laps before starting his move forward. By just past the half way point David had passed the 18 car of Danny Sheridan for the second position when the yellow came out. On the restart, David quickly powered his way back around Danny and set his sights on Mike Spencer in the 50 car. On the completion of lap 28, David had just driven past Mike Spencer to take the lead when again the yellow came out to revert him back to the second position. At the restart the battle was on. David did all he could to make the pass on the remaining (2) laps. At the checker flag David fell about 3 feet short of his goal and took a strong second place finish.

A special congratulation goes out to Bill Persall and his racing team with driver Ludvig Solberg on their first top 10 finish of the year. Ludvig drove his new Viper Chassis Five Bar, powered by iTi Performance Motorsports to a great 10^th place finish.
