The Upper Midwest Sprint Car Series (UMSS) is extremely proud to
announce its inaugural season will have 18 race nights at three
different tracks. The 2009 season will kickoff Friday night, April 24,
at Kopellah Speedway in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin, where the UMSS will
run an additional nine shows throughout the season
The
legendary Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wisconsin, will host the
UMSS four times this year. The UMSS is proud to be a part of the annual
Billy Anderson Memorial on April 25 and the Jerry Richert Memorial on
September 12 at Cedar Lake.
In addition to the previously
announced June 13 date at North Central Speedway in Brainerd,
Minnesota, the UMSS has recently added the Earl and Ethel Kouba
Memorial Race on July 4th and the Mighty Axe Nationals on September
5-6. The Kouba Memorial and Mighty Axe Nationals will have an enhanced
purse that will be announced at a later date.
"We were pretty
sure there was pent-up demand for a value-based sprint car organization
based in the Twin Cities, but we are humbled by the response we have
received in our first year," exclaimed Joe Kouba, UMSS board member.
"The UMSS brand of sprint car racing is innovative and we can't wait to
bring it to our area race fant."
