Countdown to the Mini Gold Cup at Silver Dollar Speedway: 7 Days
Concord, NC- March 6, 2009- The 2009 Mini Gold Cup at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, California on March 13-14 will be sanctioned by the World of Outlaws for the first time since 1992. In the nine days leading up to the two-day event that will pay $10,000 to win each night, nine different drivers currently competing with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series that have won at Silver Dollar Speedway will be highlighted in ascending order by the number of career wins they have at the always racy ¼-mile.
The next driver to be featured will be Craig Dollansky, who has three career wins at the always racy ¼-mile and is in the midst of his first season driving for Kasey Kahne Racing. The native of Elk River, Minnesota claimed the top spot in the opener of the 2005 Gold Cup Race of Champions. He matched that in the opener of the Gold Cup in 2006 and also last season.
In his career at Silver Dollar Speedway, Dollansky has 12 Top-10 finishes in 15 starts, with 10- of those being Top-Five performances. He finished second last season in the Gold Cup and has been on the podium in four of the last five years in the famed event.
