FAST Announces Title Sponsor for 2009 Season
MAUMEE, OH (1-20-09) It has been a
long time in the making, but the Fremont/Attica Sprint Title (F.A.S.T.)
organization has finally reached an agreement with Kistler Racing
Products to be the title sponsor for the championship series between
Fremont Speedway and Attica Raceway Park in 2009. “We’re proud to have
Kistler Racing Products on board for the 2009 season,” said F.A.S.T.
President Bryan Autullo. “Kistler Engines has been an icon in area
racing for several years now and has powered sprint cars to victory at
every level of the sport across the United States. We’re very excited
to have Kistler Racing Products, a division of Kistler Engines, behind
us as we enter into the 2009 racing season.”
“I think this is a concept that is
good for local racing,” said Paul Kistler, owner of both facets of the
Kistler brand. “I do business with a lot of these guys and I wanted to
do this in order to give something back to the local teams and drivers
who support us.” Kistler Racing Products is a supplier of sprint car
parts both locally and nationally and is run primarily by Brian Kemenah
and Dave Deyo. Kemenah is the brother of World of Outlaw driver Chad
Kemenah. The two brothers made their name on the local tracks that
Brian now works to supply with parts on race nights, while brother Chad
travels full-time with the Outlaws.
Kistler Racing Products has only been
in operation for a year, but their business has grown through a
reputation of quality parts, quality service, and years of experience
in the world of sprint car racing. The knowledge that Brian brings to
the table on parts and car setups is second to none. His reputation for
helping out anyone who needs a hand has earned him the respect of
racers near and far who rely on his advice and input to further their
success on and off the track.
“To have Kistler Racing Products be a
part of this Championship Title is a great thing for local racers in so
many ways,” said F.A.S.T.’s Scott Porter. “To have someone like Paul
Kistler back our vision brings a new level of creditability to the
Fremont/Attica Sprint Title within the local racing community. Not only
will teams benefit from the service that Kistler Racing Products
delivers at the track during the race season, but they will also
benefit at the end of the season when the checks are handed out at the
F.A.S.T. banquet.”
The F.A.S.T. Championship Title
begins on April 24th at Attica Raceway Park and ends on Sept. 12th at
Fremont Speedway. The 410 sprint car driver with the most combined
points between the two speed plants over the course of 22 events will
walk away with the inaugural championship trophy that will be named the
“Kistler Cup.” This “Fan’s Champion” will also claim a large share of
the $40,000 point fund and bragging rights as the first ever F.A.S.T.
Champion. This is all in addition to the two track championships and is
a fan driven and sponsor funded series between two of the greatest dirt
tracks in the country.”
You can visit the Kistler operation during their “Racer Appreciation Day & Open House” this Saturday January 24th
between 9 am and 5 pm. There will be door prizes, food, and raffles
for a chassis, a front end assembly, a set of wings, and a set of
shocks. “Question Session” guests include owner Paul Kistler (2007
Engine Builder Challenge winner), Brian Kemenah (6 time sprint car
champion crew chief), Jack Elam (3 time World of Outlaws Chassis
Builder Champion), and Byron Reed (9 time Champion between Fremont and
Attica ). F.A.S.T. will also be on hand with a display to answer
questions regarding the 2009 racing season.”
The F.A.S.T. concept is designed to
help local teams with an increased year-end payday and is also designed
to get fans more involved,” said Autullo. “When Scott and I came up
with this idea, we never expected the positive responses we got from
drivers, fans, promoters, and sponsors. This is something this area
needs to help maintain - and more importantly grow - the sport of
sprint car racing and the tracks support this idea for that reason.”
Porter added, “Not to mention the
other events that F.A.S.T. brings to the table such as “FAST Fest” that
was held back in November and the “1st Annual Racer’s Chili Challenge”
coming up on February 21st. These events help bring the drivers and
teams and tracks together with the local community in an effort to
increase the awareness and interest in what is happening at these two
great facilities on any given weekend. We are really lucky to have the
level of sprint car competition that we have in our backyard in
Northern Ohio and F.A.S.T. hopes to help improve on that tradition.”
The “1st Annual Racer’s Chili
Challenge” will pit team against team, driver against fan, media
against driver to see who can make the best pot of chili. Celebrity
judges will be on hand to taste the chili and pick the winner. Area
legends Brad Doty, Kenny Jacobs, Jim Linder, and Darl Harrison will
sample the chili as well as sign autographs for the fans. Other current
racing legends will be on hand to sign autographs as well. There will
also be a Texas Hold ‘Em Poker Tournament, a Rock-Paper-Scissors
Tournament, a 50/50 raffle, and Tim’s Racing Simulators to keep
everyone entertained all afternoon.
In addition to that, the Make-A-Wish
pedal car raffle sponsored by BK Sears Team 20x will be selling tickets
and Racers Racing for a Cure will be selling t-shirts. Proceeds from
the event will go to benefit the Hoserville Ohio Injured Drivers Fund
and the F.A.S.T. point fund. Tickets are just $5 for the chili cook-off
and the doors open at 1 pm at the Sandusky County Fair Grounds Flower
Building (at the Fremont Speedway). More info and a chili entry form
