Practice Time Added To Ocala Speedway Speedweek Schedule

     Ocala Speedway continues to fine tune the schedule of events for Winternationals Speedweek in late January, adding an evening practice session to accommodate the wishes of a growing list of nationally known racers.  The practice session will be conducted on Wednesday, January 28th, for both the O'Reilly All Star Circuit of Champions and for the UMP DirtCar Modifieds.  Both of these groups will be preparing for three nights of extreme racing action that will begin on Thursday, January 29th, and culminate with championship main events on Saturday, January 31st.

     The current schedule for Winternational activities at Ocala Speedway has teams arriving for the three day event on Wednesday, the 28th, and a growing number of competitors requested track in order to attempt to adjust for Ocala's tricky layout.  Speedway owner Mike Peters heard those requests and added the Wednesday session, with the pit gate open at 2 PM and practice for the sprints and modifieds running from 5 PM until 8 PM.  

     While the practice session is not officially open to the public, there is seating available within the pit area that affords a good view of the speedway from turn 1.  Pit admission will be $10 per person, the normal admission price for practice at Ocala Speedway.  Peters says that he wants this to be the first "affordable" Speedweek in Florida and therefore sees no need to charge a special rate for the practice over and above what Ocala Speedway has traditionally charged.  All attendees will be required to sign a waiver for pit admission, and the frontstretch grandstands will not be open for this event.

     Speedweek at Ocala Speedway features the world famous O'Reilly All Star Circuit of Champions 410 sprint cars, plus the UMP DirtCar Open Wheel Modifieds, for three nights of awesome racing action.  Adult grandstand admission will be $25 for Thursday, January 29th and Friday January 30th.  Adult grandstand admission for Saturday the 31st will be $30.  Children under 12 years of age will be admitted for $15.  Pit admission will be $35 for each night of the events.
