Dec. 4th 2008 at his home in Kansas City, Ricky Weld, a well known Race Car Driver passed away peacefully. The youngest of the four Weld Brothers Ricky has joined them in heaven. Diagnosed with Cancer three days after driving in the 2008 Master's Classic at Knoxville Speedway where he set a personal lap record in his career. Driving The Y5 for the Houseman Family. Was given 6 months to live. He survived six months and one day showing his grit to live, and his strength to accomplish any goal put in front of him. Including the one that would take his life. During those six months he accomplished every goal he set. His Career Spanned many years first Driving when he was 14 years old and giving "Jumpin" Jack Gibson a run for his money. Ending his career driving in Knoxville after being out of a race car for twenty years and nearly setting a track record for 360 sprints. My Father was a very giving person. Always wanting to help the low guy. Even if sacraficing his own wants and needs. I never knew how many people loved my dad, and I want to thank them all from the bottom of my heart for being there in the end. It meant so much to him to have you all there.
