Sullivan Images  to represent RCR NASCAR Development team of Golden Gate Racing  

 

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (11-23- 08)  - Golden Gate Racing Team, the San Francisco based Richard Childress NASCAR Development Team has contracted media relations services with Sullivan Images for the upcoming racing season. Team owner Jim Offenbach and marketing specialist Bill Sullivan are proud to announce their partnership of media services for the 2009 racing season in the NASCAR Camping World Championship series. 

                “It is truly an honor to have this opportunity to work with Golden Gate Racing and the NASCAR Camping World Championship Series,” said Sullivan. “I look forward to this newly formed partnership with Jim Offenbach and Richard Childress Racing to provide positive public relations for this competitive race team.” 

Golden Gate Racing has been involved in motor sports since 1992. From a championship year with the IMCA modified cars to the NORCAL racing circuit, to placing a fifth at the NASCAR Winston West Series, the North State Challenge Series, the highly competitive Davey Hamilton’s Wild West Shootout SRL Series and most recently competed in the 2008 NASCAR Camping World Grand National West Series. 

Golden Gate Racing has sponsored several drivers in the past few years, Mike Skinner, Jay Sauter, Mike Dillon, Steve Portenga, Lee Olibas, Thomas Wright, Ryan Foster, Tim McCreadie and most recently David Mayhew. The public relations partnership between Golden Gate Racing and Sullivan Images will commence on December 1, 2008 and extend through the 2009 NASCAR Camping World Series season. 

For more than two decades,  Bill Sullivan has been involved with motor sports journalism and promotions. After growing up on the sidelines of Placerville Speedway in his hometown, Sullivan began his career as a sports correspondent for the Mountain Democrat Newspaper back in 1987 and later became the managing sports editor of the Reporter Newspaper and worked as a correspondent for the Press Tribune in Roseville. During his stint in print media, Sullivan numerous professional awards with the Society of Professional Journalists and the California Newspaper Association. In 1992 he joined the staff of John Padjen Motorsports, doing weekly race results and press releases and was named the Director of Communications for Padjen in 2002, performing and overseeing media relations for Placerville Speedway, the travelling Civil War Series and assisting with Silver Dollar Speedway and the Gold Cup Race of Champions. In 2009 Sullivan will continue his commitment to all three venues as a named member of the management team of Handy Racing Promotions Incorporated, which will assume the promotions formerly maintained by John Padjen Motorsports. 

After working solely for Padjen for 16 years,  Sullivan became the Public Relations representative for Alissa Geving in 2008. Geving is a 17-year-old third generation racer from Penngrove, California and became the youngest female sprint car champion nationwide.  After teaming with Geving and her successful Chicko Motorsports Team, Sullivan Images was born and several notable drivers were represented in 2008. In addition to Geving, who claimed the Petaluma Speedway championship and Civil War Series  Rookie of the Year title, Sullivan contracted public relations services for a stable of talented drivers including the Placerville Speedway championship sprint car team of Colby Wiesz and John Taylor Motorsports,; Bradley Terrell of Sebastopol, a successful  third year driver at Petaluma Speedway, Cameron Mendes of Rohnert Park, a talented up and coming sprint car driver who challenged for the Rookie of the Year title at Placerville Speedway in 2008; Late Model driver Dan Brown Jr. of Nevada City, the 2008 Placerville Speedway Pro Stock champion and Tom Tilford of Citrus Heights, the 2006 Placerville Speedway Pure Stock champion. 

In addition to the  individual teams, Sullivan has provided public relations for the Placerville Police Officers Association and their Annual Charity Destruction Derby since 2003 when the historical event was lacking in annual funding and publicity and near extinction and is now nearly sold out annually and benefits various charities within El Dorado County. Aside from his private public relations services, Bill Sullivan is a fulltime associate of MotoWear International in Sacramento. MotoWear International is a full service manufacturer of racing apparel and promotional products and supplies many of the nation’s top teams with their apparel needs including NASCAR, the AMA, the World of Outlaws and numerous local teams and drivers.
