Ike Forces ASCS Sooner Cancellation at Cowtown KENNEDALE, Texas (September 12, 2008) – With Hurricane Ike set to douse most of Texas over the next 24 hours, American Sprint Car Series officials and Cowtown Speedway management agreed early Friday afternoon that it would be in the best interest of all concerned to cancel Saturday night's scheduled American Bank of Oklahoma ASCS Sooner Region event atop the high-banked, ¼-mile dirt oval. The ASCS Sooner Region fires back to action next Saturday night, September 20, at Creek County Speedway in Sapulpa, OK, while Cowtown Speedway will play host to the O'Reilly American Sprint Cars on Tour National series with the Cowtown Sprint Nationals on October 10-11.
