Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series At a Glance: Red River Valley Speedway, Gillette Thunder Speedway, Dacotah Speedway & Nodak Speedway
Concord, NC- August 10, 2008--
WHAT * The Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series returns to action on Tuesday, August 12 at Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo, North Dakota for an event which was postponed by rain earlier this season. The series then heads west for their inaugural visit to Gillette Thunder Speedway in Wyoming on Thursday, August 14. A trip back to North Dakota is then in store for the final two races of the Gerdau Ameristeel Northern Tour at Dacotah Speedway in Mandan North Dakota on Saturday, August 16 and Nodak Speedway in Minot on Sunday, August 17. The event at Gillette Thunder Speedway will be the series inaugural visit to the high-banked 3/8-mile and the series first stop on Wyoming since 1999. The race at Dacotah Speedway will also be a debut event for the World of Outlaws and will mark the fourth track in the state of North Dakota that the series has competed at. WHEN * On Tuesday, August 12 at Red River Valley Speedway, the pit gates will open at 2 p.m. Central, with the grandstand gates opening at 4 p.m. Central, with hot laps set for 6:30 p.m. Central, with time trials to follow.
* On Thursday, August 14 at Gillette Thunder Speedway, the pit gates will open at 2 p.m. Mountain, with the grandstand gates opening at 4 p.m. Mountain with racing set for 7 p.m. Mountain.
* On Saturday, August 16 at Dacotah Speedway, the pit gates will open at 2 p.m. Central, with the grandstand gates to open at 4 p.m. Central, with hot laps set for 6:30 p.m. Central.
* On Sunday, August 17 at Nodak Speedway, the pit gates will open at 2 p.m. Central, with the grandstand gates to open at 4 p.m. Central, with hot laps set for 6:30 p.m. Central.
WHERE * Red River Valley Speedway is located in West Fargo, North Dakota. Take I-94 west of Fargo to exit 343, then go .7 miles east on Highway 10 (at the Red River Valley Fairgrounds).
* Gillette Thunder Speedway is located in Gillette, Wyoming. Take I-90 to exit 128, then travel 0.5 mile east on CR 51, then go 1.3 miles north on Garner Lake Road., then head east.
* Dacotah Speedway is located in Mandan, North Dakota. From I-94 to exit 155, which turns into Main Street, then go to Memorial Highway, then travel 0.7 mile south and then go 0.3 mile west.
* Nodak Speedway is located in Minot, North Dakota.on the North Dakota State Fairgrounds, east of downtown on Business U.S. 2.
TICKETS * On Tuesday, August 12 at Red River Valley Speedway, general admission tickets for adults will be $30 if purchased in advance and $32 the day of the race, with general admission tickets for children ages 6-12 $15, and kids 5-under will be admitted free of charge to the general admission seats. Adult reserved tickets will be $33 if purchased in advance and $35 the day of the race, with reserved tickets for children $15.
