Daggett Sparkles at Crystal for ASCS SOD Honors T.J. Buffenbarger, CRYSTAL, Mich. (July 19, 2008) – Dustin Daggett from Portland, Michigan won Saturday night’s Engine Pro ASCS Sprints on Dirt presented by Victor Reinz feature event at the Crystal Motor Speedway.

Daggett moved up from eighth starting position battled for the lead with defending ASCS Sprints on Dirt champion Tim Norman and slip in turn two for the victory in the Mott Motorsports car.

Louie Carufel and Norman started on the front row for the 25-lap feature event. Norman led early while Daggett made his presence felt early moving into the top five. After methodically moving through the field Daggett used a daring move to pass ASCS SOD point leader Brett Mann and Ben Rutan down the backstretch to move into second.

After a caution bunched up the field Norman and Daggett raced through lapped traffic. Daggett look the lead on lap 13, but then Norman regained the lead heading down the backstretch when the caution flag appeared for a spin by Jim Lingar. The caution put Daggett back into the lead.

After the restart Daggett opened up a six car length lead on Norman. Then while racing through lapped traffic with just two laps to go Daggett slipped in turn two and allowed Norman to close. Time ran out there as Daggett took the win over Norman, Naida, Mann, and Dalman.

Heat races were won by Norman, Rutan, and Kirk Cheney won heat race events. The Total Seal Fast Car Dash presented by Gaerte Engines was won by Dustin Daggett after Dain Naida was penalized for jumping the start. Davey Brown won the B-Main event.
