PAWLAK TAKES WILD RIDE IN THE 4 CYL BOMBER DIVISION


As Putnam County Speedway takes win over mother nature. There was 6 division taking to the track to get it race ready. The 4 cylinder bombers was the largest class on hand. As the green drops the positions begin to change. With a couple of cautions for a few laps. Art Souther is leading the field. Lap 7 brought a horrifying end to the race as Shawn Pawlak in the 6pac car flips it and had to be life flighted to Shands. Doing as well as expected after finding out the results of his injuries. Keep him and his family in your prayers as Shawn has a long road to recovery. Art Souther takes the win. Art Sullivan will finish 2nd. James Shaw finishes 3rd.

The sportsman division with 6 cars starting. The field has a close race from the beginning to the end. As Jacky Joe Bennett takes lead he has Martin Johnson and Marc Kinley right there waiting for him to make a mistake. Over heating starts to be a factor for Jacky Joe Bennett. But with a strong lead over Martin Johnson he is able to slow down a bit to take the win. Making it his 3 victory in 4 races. Martin Johnson will take 2nd place. Richard Adams will finish 3rd.

Ford strikes again, David Miller Jr. will take the win over Randy Moody and Bruce Birkett. The green comes out and Miller gets the lead over the rest of the field. Having the right set-up and ability to drive the track with eyes open or eyes closed, Miller was there at the end to take the checkered flag. Randy Moody, Bruce Birkett, Shawn Taylor will round out the top 4 for the Hobby Stock division.

The class at the track this weekend with the most horsepower will have 5 cars to compete against each other for $800.00. With Kopka starting on the pole, Raymond Vann is there waiting for Kopka to make a mistake. Vann has some problems and has to go in the pits. Lewis in the 0 had engine problems and had to go in as well. Mikey Kopka in the other 33 will have problems as well. Leaving Kopka and Bug Rose racing for the win. As the last few laps come in to play Rose is there leaving Kopka no room to make a mistake. As checkered comes out Kopka will take the win over Rose in the RP1.

The mini stock division was a sight to see as the winner has to come from the middle of the pack. Green comes out with the 32 of Corey Jordan taking lead. As the field comes out of turn 4 Jordan will have company trying to take the lead away from him, the 35g of Brack Gill will try the high side but Jordan gets into Gill and spins him out. The caution will come out and they will get a complete restart. When the green comes out again Jordan and Gill go at it again. But the car to watch was the 82 of Blake Spencer. Making his way through the field to take the checkered. Carney will finish 2nd after just sitting back and driving a clean smooth race. Father and son corndog racing will finish 3rd and 4th.

The V-8 pure stocks will come to the track for there 15 lap main event. The rookie in this division will take the win. Robby Burkes the grandson of Richard Adams will bring home his first win, only racing 2 races. Robby out drives the 12 car of Jerrid Bennett who has the car to beat. Robby has been around racing all his life helping his grandpa to helping his racing friends at the track. Miller in the 2 car will finish 3rd.

The management, and drivers would like to thank everyone for coming out to Putnam County Speedway. Test N Tune is Scheduled for this Wednesday at 5pm till dark, also, Come visit us this weekend and watch our Motorstats mania $800.00 to win modified main event.
