Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series At a Glance: The Duel in the Dakotas & Cedar Lake Speedway

WHAT * The Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series returns to the Upper Midwest this week for a trio of events beginning on Friday at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, North Dakota, which is the opener of the four-race Gerdau Ameristeel Northern Tour, which will encompass four tracks North Dakota this weekend and again in August. The second event of the Northern Tour will be at Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo, North Dakota, on Saturday, which is part of the annual Duel in the Dakotas. The weekend will conclude on Sunday with a stop at Cedar Lake Speedway in Wisconsin. All three of the tracks that the series visits this weekend are high-banked, with River Cities Speedway being of the smallest of the lot at three-tenths of a mile, while Red River Valley is a spacious half-mile, with Cedar Lake Speedway being a racy 3/8-mile. WHEN * On Friday, June 27 at River Cities Speedway, the pit gates will open at 2 p.m. Central, with the grandstand gates opening at 4 p.m. Central and hot lap are tentatively set for 6 p.m. Central, with time trials to follow.

* On Saturday, June 28 at Red River Valley Speedway, the pit gates will open at 2 p.m. Central, with the grandstand gates opening at 4 p.m. Central and hot laps are tentatively set for 6:30 p.m. Central, with time trials to follow.

* On Sunday, June 29 at Cedar Lake Speedway, the pit gates will open at 2 p.m. Central, with the grandstand gates opening at 4 p.m. Central and hot laps are tentatively set for 6:30 p.m. Central, with time trials to follow.



WHERE * River Cities Speedway is located in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Travel 1.6 miles east of I-29 (exit 141) on U.S. 2 (at the Greater Grand Forks Fairgrounds).

* Red River Valley Speedway is located in West Fargo, North Dakota. Take I-94 west of Fargo to exit 343, then go .7 miles east on Highway 10 (at the Red River Valley Fairgrounds).

* Cedar Lake Speedway is located in New Richmond, Wisconsin. Travel one mile east of SR 35 on SR 64 (in Somerset), then 4.2 miles north on CR C to CR CC, then left 1.8 miles.

TICKETS * On Friday, June 27 at River Cities Speedway, adult general admission tickets will be $30 if purchased in advance or $32 the day of the race, with general admission tickets for children (ages 6-12) $15, and kids 5-under will be admitted free of charge in the general admission seating. Adult reserved tickets will be $33 in advance or $35 the day of the race, with reserved tickets for children 12-under $15.
