Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series Championship Standings Through June 21

Contact: World Racing Group Tony Veneziano, World of Outlaws PR Director 704-467-7803 * [email protected] Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series Championship Standings Through June 21 Concord, NC- June 22, 2008-Donny Schatz used a win on Saturday night in the finale of the Boot Hill Showdown at Dodge City Raceway Park to extend his lead in the championship standings to 55 markers over Jason Meyers. Schatz, the two-time defending Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series champion is the only driver that has finished in the Top-10 in all 22 A-Feature events this season. He leads the series with seven A-Feature wins. Meyers finished third and eighth over the weekend and continues to lead the series in Top-Five finishes with 18. He is second to Schatz in wins, with five, as he chases his first Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series championship. Craig Dollansky finished in the Top-Five both nights at Dodge City to remain third in points. He was second on Friday night and fourth in the finale of the Boot Hill Showdown. The native of Elk River, Minnesota has finished in the Top-10 in 21 of the 22 races contested this season. Joey Saldana picked up his first World of Outlaws win of 2008 on Friday night and backed that up with a third-place performance on Saturday night. He has 19 Top-10 finishes in 22 events and is fourth in points. Jac Haudenschild was fifth on Friday night and seventh on Saturday night to remain fifth in points. He has 15 Top-10 finishes on the year, with eight of those being in the Top-Five. Steve Kinser, the 20-time World of Outlaws champion finished fifth on Saturday night and was ninth in the opener. He also was quickest in time trials both nights to earn a total of 10 bonus points. He is just six points out of the Top-Five. Kerry Madsen, the reigning Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year remains seventh in points on the strength of 14 Top-10 finishes. Shane Stewart jumped to eighth in points after picking up two Top-10 finishes at Dodge City Raceway Park. The 2005 Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year has 12 Top-10 finishes this season. After finishing fourth on Friday night, Chad Kemenah had engine trouble on Saturday night which prevented him from starting the Crane Cams Dash, where he scheduled to start second. He was running seventh in the A-Feature when engine trouble again hampered his night. The native of Findlay, Ohio is ninth in points on the strength of 10 Top-10 finishes. Terry McCarl rounds out the Top-10 in points. He has nine Top-10 finishes this season, with four of those being Top-Five performances. Daryn Pittman used a runner-up finish on Saturday night and an eighth-place effort on Friday night to move to within 43 points of the Top-10. Sam Hafertepe Jr. picked up two more Top-10 finishes this past weekend, as he closed to within 22 points of Pittman. The sophomore driver was second quickest in time trials both nights at Dodge City to earn eight bonus points. Kraig Kinser picked up his fifth Top-10 finish of the season on Saturday night, and is 13th in points, with Jason Sides and Tim Shaffer who were teammates over the weekend, just behind him. Sophomore drivers Tony Bruce Jr. and Chad Hillier are 16th and 18th in points respectively after 22 events. The Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series returns to action on Friday, June 28 at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, North Dakota for the first round of the Gerdau Ameristeel Northern Tour.
