You mod, street stock guys are taking this way out of context. No open wheeled racers have said a word about your cars being worthless. When the mods or street stocks are going around the track, that gives everyone a chance to go to the concessions or go to the restrooms and the sprints enough time to get their cars ready for the feature.Hell I like to see a demo derby from time to time. You guys provide free entertainment sometimes. It would really be cool to see SFS do figure 8 for the mod and streetstocks once.

Taking it out of context? Soap Box on wheels, Falling asleep, Packing the track for the almighty Sprint Car? The truth be known who's the ones making these remarks? Sounds like a 5 year old when they dont get their way. This fued will go long after we have all retired. By the way it good to finally meet the Smoman.

Man, we have a lot of uneducated people on here. lol
LetoffEarly...Just a little FYI, The knoxville nationals pay 6 figures I believe. The Front Row Challenge pays $50,000. The STN's (360 race) pays $10,000 or $20,000. The Mopar Million paid $1,000,000. The ASCS champion gets $50,000. These are just the random races I can think of. I haven't even mentioned the Kings Royal or other big races. None of these are 100% accurate by any means because they are off the top of my head but they are close.
JD: I respect your cars (well the chevy ones). The speeds I was guessing at are at the city. Now I'm sure the sprinters go just a liiiiiitle faster on those tracks you are talking about. Just a guess.
Here are the facts fellas...a hooked up 900hp sprint weighing 1200 lbs is just a little more extreme and fun to drive than a wheel spinning 900 hp 4 ton mod.

Yeah, us sprint car drivers just ride along. You know, since we have to let off going into the turn so the car catches up...turn it...wait...hit the gas and go down the straightaway (possibly pull a wheely like sidebitewins if we're lucky) and go do it all again. Oh wait that's a mod. We actually have to run it into the corner going over 100 mph wheel to wheel with another open wheel car and all it takes is one bump to end up in the hospital. Come on guys. Your whole hp argument is old because your cars can't hook up. I actually applaud you guys because I would probably fall asleep if I drove one. It is amazing that you guys make 20 laps without a pillow.
PS: Did anybody notice how packed the stands where Friday night when the mods were off?
Bring it on ladies
|
I tell you what. You take the wings off your car and put on DOT 235/75 -15 wheels on your sprint and lets line them up and race. I guarantee you wont fall asleep! Your arguement is old because all i hear is that your cars can drive themselves and we go so much faster. Ours are the hardest to drive because of all the horsepower and no wings for downforce or big tires for sidebite. And i might add, we can make it 3 to 4 wide racin without flipping all the time!
And i might add, its awful sad that you all have to have someone pushing you to start your big bad sprint cars! LOL!

They still run those. They are called non-wing sprint cars. They are too fast and were too dangerous so some sanctioning bodies decided to allow wings on them. I'm willing to bet a non-winged sprinter could outrun a mod...
If everything is the same the lighter car will win out. It's physics.

Ya know Cheese, we're just having fun! It's the same thing Bedlam week too. The fact remains that there's alot of talent in this State that in my opinion is very much under estimated. I think what Driveitindeep was meaning is that for the level of racing that "We" partake in that you can take a OKC Mod to Enid at the first of Aug. for $10,000. I dont think $10,000 well get you in the Pits at any of the races you mentioned. I do enjoy "Playtime" with my so called friends.

Its not a matter of big tires vs small 900 hp vs soap boxes its that owning, driving, being a relative of, working on, or fan of sprint cars all of you seem to carry yourselves in a higher regard than other forms of dirt racing. I think its a joke to race a car at the fair grounds then compare yourself to the upper level of racing hiarchy. If you need an example just attend the races one night and observe the pits. You guys still put your pants on one leg at a time. But i do agree with the original thread and that the un-fair grounds will stay that way b/c ORA is a joke and lanny knows it.

Hold up guys, some of you are taking this waaaaaay too far. I've said the whole time I'm just messing with you. In no way do I think that I am better than anyone. You can ask anyone that actually knows me on here. Come and talk to me in the pits and see. JD knows all of this and that is why we can mess with each other on here.
SmithRacer, you've been a dick to me since day 1. I don't even know you man. No I haven't ran a 900hp car, have you ever sat in a race car? Calm down and smell the freaking roses, I think you might have a problem. Why don't you come down and meet me. That's not a I'm going to kick your ass offer. That's an I'm going to shake your hand and ask how your night has been offer. By the way, the last time I raced I was a lap away from a win. Someone must have taken over my body and drove the car for me.
Like I've said 394839438 times in this thread I was just messing around. You guys kept bringing up points so I kept coming back. What am I supposed to do? Just let you win?

Ya if Sprinters are so popular why is Mods just about at any track and the Sprinters have a choice of about 5 tracks? Take Lanny out of this and then you have even less choices. The truth of the matter is Mods popularity is growing and Sprinters arent.

The answer to that is there are not enough talented people to run sprintcars. Any "HILLBILLYBOB" can jump in a fender flapper, gas her up down the straight away and bank off another car and gas her up again til the next corner!!!!!!!!! Do it in a sprintcar and say goodbye to your ENTIRE car not just a tin foil body you can hammer back out! You have to be able to run it off under someone inches away from you in any open wheel can and not touch. You can't just run it in there and knock Bubba outta the danged ole way then take a tire tool down and whoop that daggum yankee's A$$ for bein in the daggum way!!!!!!!!

I apologize you're right i don't know you i just inferred you were like the rest of the sprint car clan. Good luck on getting a motor together, i'd sell you one of mine but you'd have to pull it out of my soap box and probably adjust the bike pedals. That was a joke.

Amen to that! We all know as DRIVERS, most of the time, that we are kidding around with each other and with down time between races, we have to jaw on each other to have a little fun ei...JD and his wanna be Ford motors!
Otherwise, get a life! We all know there's major problems at SFS and unfortunately its never goin to change unless there's a change of promoters. So as a racer, you have 2 choices. Shutup and race or go to another track where there are promoters who do listen. Unfortunately for the Super Sprints and Pro-Stocks, they dont very many options because most of the tracks dont run their class or support the rules that their car is built. Champs have a few more options and the factorys even have more. The Modifieds, for the most part, can run any track in the state so i guess we have the least to complain about because we can choose where we want to run. But for the classes that dont have the luxury as we do, I feel for you.

First off, if you want to meet cheese he is easy to find. If he don't shave he will resemble that of Muslin desent.
Secondly, cheeze likes to break the ice and cut up and there is nothing wrong with that. Sometimes we take things way too serious and need to learn to relax and chill - have a little fun.
I have learned over the past couple of years to appreciate most all forms of dirt track racing. I use to be only sprint cars but I have become more diversed. Make alot of new friends that way also.
And lastly, while we and the drivers have their own preference in different divisions of race cars, I have found at SFS that whether it be super sprints or champ sprints or mods or pro stocks or factory stocks, everyone is pretty much a type group. If only the fans could get to know drivers from the divisions they don't keep up with.
As far as SFS or Lawton or Enid or Brill or Ardmore or where ever, Deke is right that there are those who do have a choice on where they can race and really don't have to be committed to one track more than the other. But before you slam one track or another trust me when I say there seems to be problems at ALL tracks that I keep up with all across this region. So your not alone when you think there are flagman problems or scoring problems or this problem or that problem. It exsists at every track -OR - does it really exsist or are we just that picky in life these days?

For the most part what you say is true with a few questions. Are there no Bubba's in the Sprint Car class? I've seen a few that Drive like that. These Mods of today take quite a talent to keep all that rear end movement underneath them. When I said there's alot of talented Drivers in this State I meant in all classes, but what I compare the most are the Mods from track to track. We've raced at Texas, Kansas, Mo. and ran against quite a few of them Ark. Drivers, all of these states have talent but it seems like Ok. list is quite long. I'm sure if Sprint cars had the same amount of Drivers the Mods do it could be a long list too. But until I get as smart as you Sprint Car people I'll just have to keep carring my tire tool {Jack Handle} with me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just messin with ya.

Well at least you understand and at least your accepting the fact that sprintcar drivers, fans, owners, pit crews, etc are a superior breed. Maybe one day you will just accept the fact that those little blue ovals are NOT faster than a bowtie!!!!!!! lol
