gone_racin---what you said is dead on and not only for the sprints but any division running ocean look at there modified and late model drivers and cars just like the sprints these cars and drivers could compete anywhere in the nation and be competitive

I will agree with you that Placerville is a tough place to win but if you took the top 5 or 6 drivers in the points from Ocean and P-ville and had a series and raced at both tracks..I would put my money on the Ocean drivers .....9 out of 10 times...JMO

just to give credit to some ocean drivers and in case some folks do not know the caliber of competition there, here are the top 5 in points and a little of their accomplishment. just off the top of my head . feel free to correct me or add to what i have if you want.

1 Bud Kaeding- back to back and defending silver crown champ, san jose track champ, johnny key winner, multiple GSC race winner
2 Brent Kaeding - king of cali HOW MANY TIMES, johnny key winner, multiple pombo-sargent winner, hell i don't have much room so how about this...H.O.F. need i say more?
3 Jason Statler- king of cali, woo feature winner, johnny key winner, GSC standout.
4 Brad Furr- multiple woo winner AND gum out series winner. podium at was it kings royal or HBO? sorry brad i am a little tired!
5 Evan Suggs- dirt cup prelim winner, hardest charging newcommer to GSC.

it is woth it to mention tommy tarlton (come on it's tommy what more can i say!), craig stidham (trophy cup winner) stephen allard (defending chico track champion), craig smith (johnny key winner) as regulars as well. ronnie day ran as a regular last year and has subed for his brother kieth at a race this year. (since i mentioned the johnny key, might as well honor his win in that too)

i by no means wish to negate any of the p-ville guy's abilities or accomplishments. i am just showing a little of the ocean competition here since the subject was brought up. anyone care to post a comparison? friendly rivalry since we have a civil war race at ocean at the end of the season.
