If Schatz waved every time he passed McCarl, he would need rotater cuff surgery.

Im proud to say that I have NEVER supported Crybaby Donny and WILL NEVER support his babyish antics! This month of money program on ESPN 2 I hope has opened some eyes as to who the real Donny schatz is! Nothing more than a spoiled lil baby who has gotten what he wants because of who his parents are!! And no....he will NEVER be the NEW King. I dont see him winning 20 WoO Championships nor winning over 530 WoO feature events. It might be true about the old saying," Nice guys finish last..", but nice guys have more fans and sell more t-shirts!! Get a life Donny and grow up!! Im not a huge McCarl fan either(as seen by my signature), but I found it rather amusing when he waved bye-bye to Donnie!! Smile

This comes from a guy who has a picture of the BIGGEST WHINNER in sprint car racing next to his name At least Donny didnt need his wife to run to the officals hauler and complain about the start of the heat IMO Joey needs a rattle and a pacifier dude you drive the best financed, fastest, most recognized car on the tour shut up and race

Lucky for Donny he always seems to start in the first or second row...but since you don't judge on personality...LOL.

Lucky for Donny meaning that he doesn't have to worry about the surgery mentioned.

I must have been watching a different show. I watch for the RACING, not to judge everyones personality. Schatz is currently the best sprint car RACER in the world. I thought McCarls wave was bush league & during his camera time he makes an ass of himself, he might have broke Dudes record for winks at the camera during a single interview. Schatz might not have an electric personally, but he did come up with the best quote, "I guess it was good for those guys they need a win every 6 months or so".

Donny Schatz is a Prick. I guess the World of Outlaws needed to replace Sammy Swindell with someone and I guess Donny stepped right up!!

And by the way Donny Schatz will never win 20 WOO titles. We all know who the KING is and lets keep it that way.

On a positive note: ESPN broadcasting the WOO is the best thing that could have happend to Sprint Car Racing and my hat is off to T-MAC for the win and bottom line having some fun on the track and in front of the Cameras. This may be the thing that WOO needs to take Sprint Car racing to the next level. Pavement is for getting there and dirt is for racing and if it ain't got a wing your not even close.

If Schatz is looking for a Sponsor maybe he should contact Kleenex.

Party On Wayne!!

Personally I don't care who whines and who doesn't as long as the racing is good, but that's because I'm already a die hard sprint car fan. That being said, these races on ESPN are the best shot Sprint Car Racing has at growing among mainstream race fans...which leads to more popularity...which leads to more coverage...which leads to more sponsors and corporate dollars.

Terry gets it... Kinser gets it...Lasoski gets it...Haud gets it. Schatz and Saldana don't get it. Everytime I've watched them being interviewed on ESPN they are both dry, somber, boring, and usually pissy...even after a win, and these are the top 2 guys in the sport right now. Sorry folks, that doesn't make a strong impression on new fans or heads of business looking to sponsor teams. You should all go back and read the first post that started this string. He is dead-on.

Win or lose Donny has bitched in every single interview. Nice guy off the track or not, it's what fans see that matters and Donny looks like he's just had a death in the family everytime he speaks.

By the way, the wave was hilarious, ballsy, and flat out cool. McCarl did his part, he earned the sport a ton of fans Sunday. We could use a dozen more McCarl's out there every night.

Jamie K, your right on , I wasnt present to hear some of T-MAC'S comments earlier this year ,although he is in the heat of the moment possibly, I do believe he is true to the sport and all for taking it to the next level, Just off my observations of TMAC in the pits and after a nights races he is passionate about our sport and trying to generate and sell the idea of sprint car racing to the plublic, ( if your offered a slice of spam on a paper plate to someone on a hot summer day they will proubly shy away, now, that same chunk of "wonder meat" on a silver platter might look appetizing?) its all about presentation and adding a little drama to the mix (YES) will creat interest , positive or not it will creat interest , Look at Napcar , the race is a complete morning and afternoon if not a week of coverag off of one race , and the race typically is a yawner, what race?to me it comes down to the last lap the two fastest cars thats what I like to see I wish that is what put butts in the seats , unfortunatll its not , 70% of the fans are there to see thier favorite personality not the race, a true race! lets hope the WoO can capture a audiance with some good races and not over a three ring circus act , I also hope the race interviews liven up a little some of our WoO Heros need a class in PR, on the drivers defence , dont stick a microphone in a drivers helmet and expect a Bible passage ! thier in 100% drive ,competition mode if you will, it could get ugly, and maybe the drama we need ?

Duh......ok Sponge Bob. Christ almighty, some of you posters out there are the ones who don't get it. Go ahead and keep Kinser in his own catagory, that's fine. Of course nobody will probably ever win as many championships or Knoxville Nationals as he has. Newsflash....Schatz has a championship, a Nationals title, Kings Royal, multiple Williams Grove National Open titles, Gold Cups, etc. I think that is enough for at least some comparison or categorization. How do you compare Kinser to Lasoski? Mark Kinser to Swindell? It's very interesting how the best driver in the nation is always getting flack from some of the fans. Used to be Steve, then Mark, then Dude, now Schatz. In a few years, maybe you people will be talking trash about Jason Martin. Ok, maybe not him, but it will be someone else's turn in a couple of years.

As I said previously, nobody has more respect for Steve Kinser than Danny Schatz and I know this first hand, so stop the crap about any comparissons etc.

Donny has won EVERYTHING there is to win in winged sprint car racing and he has years left to duplicate it a few more times, give him his due as well. Nobody will every replace, Jordan or Gretzky or the Babe and the same holds true for Steve K. Donny could care less about being the 'next' King, trust me. He's happy being Donny Schatz, his Mom and Dad are his two biggest supporters and get to see his magic night after night, life is good and the jealous ones in here are going to have to get used to it for some time to come. Take It Easy....

Sprintman11, you're probably crying because he beats your boy about every night these days and let me give you some first hand info. Danny Schatz is a wonderful man, great sense of humor excellent businessman and a big fan of Steve Kinser who jumped on me a bit last year when I was complaining about the NST in conversation with him. Diane Schatz has more personality and fun than any other woman on the tour I think, she is a blast. Donny is Donny, painfully shy until he knows you and then he holds nothing back, a great conversation and he's told me some great stories, heck how can you be mad/jealous at asomebody who LOVES racing at the Grove, lol.

Terry sometimes rubs people the wrong way (boy can I relate) but he means well and is just an 'Excitable Boy' as Warren Zevon might say. He is likely the best spokesman for sprint car racing on the World of Outlaw tour and one of the nicest, most genuine, charitable guys out there. You all wished you had friends like these four people and you probably do, take it from somebody in the first person. Take It Easy....

mspn

you are right.

you ask my 2 boys what they think of the schatz family and how they have treated us over the years.

diane is one of the nicest ladies i have ever met. danny and donny are a bit shy or whatever you want to say until you get to know them. last year at jackson, i helped sell shirts and pack up the trailer afterthe races, we all stood around until they had to leave. they made me feel like part of the family. people need to quit judging untio they get to know the people.

steve kinser was totally rude one year at knoxville but you know i never held it against him. they all have a lot on their minds at the track it is one of those things that some people deal with things differently than others.

I was lucky enough to spend hundreds of nights following these guys and each and every one of them has good nights and bad ones and it's reflected in the pits after the race, dang they're human!

Trashing someone based upon a one time experience or petty jealousy seems to be the norm these days and how sad that is. Be thankful they are out there and puttin' on the show they do or there would be some real boring nights come summer time every year. Take It Easy.....
