May have missed these in the previous entires, so they may be repeats, maybe not:

Kruser left the track during his heat and did not return. Never heard why.

Don Gansen was taken off in the ambulance with a possible broken leg after he was mixed up in a furball in turn 4... but the car rolled all the way to turn 2.

Bullet passed Shoe briefly, but had to give it back over another yellow.

Showtime and Spencer banged wheels hard in turn 4 early but continued; they did it again later on, and Spencer spun.

Jones went to the wall in turn 1 early but made it back out in time for the restart.

(Lap 1 lasted about a half hour, I think.)

Crawford, Hansen and Ballard collected each other about a third of the way in. That was what resulted in the preliminary decision to call the race.

Final order from 1st to 7th: Shoe, Showtime, Bullet, Brown, Hansen, Cody W., Super Rickie.

All things considered, pretty much a CRA show without points.

50/50 Update

We had one more entry in to the event. I let AC Goins buy into the the 8 numbers (as we were paying for pit passes) I had because that was the only fair way to do it. Of course it cut my chances in half but I wasnt planning on keeping any of the money anyway.

Turn$Rob (not a typo) did indeed win the participants share of the pot and Shon Deskins made the longest tow all of the way from Queen Creek, AZ to earn the car owners share. Unfortunately, the $190 (more on the amount later) we raised for him is just a drop in the bucket to what it is going to take to repair his car after his flip. He and his crew were sincerely appreciative for the unexpected bonus money!

Now to explain how we got to $190. With the added $10 we were able to add due to AC buying into my numbers we went from $140 to $150. When Turn$Rob came over to collect his winnings of $60 he gave $40 of it back and told me to give it to Shon Deskins! I would like to thank Rob for the kind gesture as was Shon when I went to the pits to give him the extra $40!

Thank you to everyone that participated I think we all enjoyed it and Don send me an email if you are going to be at the Independance Day Race. I would like to meet you and personally thank you for the extra money that you added!

Take Care,

Joe

One small detail. When the red was displayed on lap 8 for the Crawford crash,so was the checker, red checker, at which point the race was over, and it was announced the race was over. The crash being in turn 1 ,same as exit from track, all cars remained on track with Shuman stopped at finish line as winner.A moment later it was announced the race would continue, granted by Fairboard. As tobe expected Shuman was clearly aganst a re-start,checker was displayed. The re-start lite the fire in Shuman who was on a rail, not making any mistakes,as eventual winner as checker was displayed again Casey continued racing next lap.Was it over?Congrates to Casey Shuman. All and all, a great event.
