Thanks.
I've swatted my damn screen about forty times already. If that thing keeps crawling around I'm gonna stop drinking this early in the morning, or at least until I've had breakfast. Oh, right, that is breakfast.
Maybe I'll roll one and just watch it crawl for a while. Maybe a little music to go along. Suggestions?

I know a few drivers drove this car. Best as I can recollect, Walt Kennedy drove it more than others did, so I'll make him my guess. Kinda of hard to tell without seeing more than a pair of eyes. Nice pic tho. Boy could that power plant made an interesting sound!

Those eyes
Not Walt Kennedy.
“It seems that racing always
ends up with one dominant engine. I’ve always been a competitor, like to see
different brands and different types of engines out there. My son was an
apprentice and his project to be a Class A pattern maker was to make a six
cylinder block out of my eight cylinder block. To make a long story short, we
built a V-6, 429 inch Hemi and put it in a sprint car. The second night out at Ascot, we were the number one qualifier and the thing was
very competitive.
It ran good and sounded good, because it was different.” -Nick Arias Jr.

I remember that engine well, that one, or one just like it ran at Santa Maria Speedway with Mike Keller out of Paso Robles at the Helm. I heard that they burnt alot of pistons, trying to keep it running. As mentioned it had an awesome sound, that was back before mufflers at SMS.

Attempting to post a copy of that photo.

If I recall the caption in Open Wheel correctly, Chuck's gesture was towards the driver on the outside. Chuck West maybe?

I remember Ron Shuman drove it too. Those his eyes? Didn't the Keith Black Hemi in this car have a flat crank? I remember the sound it made, like a straight eight. Had more power that the car could think about getting to the ground.
Nick Arias Jr., man I remember that big V-6 and the unbelievable sound it made too. Wow, it did have some poop.
