The tracks that have the Outlaws once a year are generally big time success stories at least they were the ten years I spent running around with them. Not that Tony needs the money but the Kings Royal is a big-time moneymaker for him as is the Nationals for Knoxville. The Grove may be down (heard they were packed this weekend) but they get 6 shows a year and the area is saturated with sprint car racing, soooooo.
I have seen the Outlaws in a few dozen States and they have generally either packed or almost packed the place and made some very nice $$$$ for the promoter along the way. I can't believe things have changed that drastically in the last year. Take It Easy......

West Burlington will host their first World of Outlaw show in about 2 weeks. Weather permitting I would bet this will be the biggest day as a promotor in their history. It's going to make a few more people fans of sprint car racing also as that is top notch facility to watch a sprint car show. Biggest problem there will be finding a seat.

Yes, a WoO show is a moneymaker for SOME tracks; just not all of them. I believe that Eagle turned a profit this year actually.
My point was that it's not the enormous windfall that it used to be everywhere. Sure, 20 years ago an owner or promoter could use that money to offset the rest of the season. Not so anymore unfortunately.
Eagle used to host a 3-day and a 2-day show. Now we're down to 1 single-day show. Times have changed drastically to say the least.
I am lucky enough to work at one of the best tracks
anywhere.
