So I guess the officials did wave off the first lap before it was completed. If that's the case I guess he was entitled to another lap. I'm not a Schatz fan, but maybe we're making a bigger deal out of this than there really is. As for SK throwing a fit, it isn't the first time it's happened.

My understanding and I know someone will correct me if I am wrong. Any and ALL drivers have the option to request one additional lap of qualifying if the track is not clear when they qualify. Schatz did that and was given one lap. It is not automatically given by the official but if it is determined that the driver did not get a clear lap and requests a chance to go back out, which from the appearance from things when Schatz came off the scales after his session, is exactly what happened. Don't know. I wasn't privy to that conversation.

Do I understand why Kinser was upset? Certainly. He is a competitor. If I were in his place, I would have gotten hot and bothered myself.

Next subject...Speed's crew should have their collective a..es kicked for the helicopter stunt. I don't care who was flying it, I only hope that the good Darke County Sheriff's Department met him when he landed and hauled his butt off. Better yet, take his license away. He obviously does not have the common sense or the compassion to think about the safety of a lot of innocent onlookers that he could have obviously put in danger.

hahaha, this thread has been hilarious to read. From "proof" of a conspiracy, to the real truth being told. Gotta love it.

As for the remark about being "real" Outlaws and running the "big" shows like PA Speedweek etc... Every PA Speedweek race pays less than a regular Outlaw race. Same w/ Ohio Speedweek. The Outlaw point fund is $200k to the winner. What is the Speedweek point fund pay to the winner? $2500?

with the financial shape the WoO are in now, that $2500 point fund will be a big deal in the not to distant future.

If it were in the best interests of the WoO teams to be "true outlaws", they would be doing just that. Nobody holds a gun to their heads forcing them to run with the WoO.

How many "big" shows are there that aren't sanctioned? Not many. Without the WoO or the All Star series', just how many races around the country would pay as much as $5000 to win, much less at least $10k at every WoO race?

Throw in tow money to series regulars and points funds and TV and marketing....there are plenty of reasons guys choose not to be "true outlaws"...

I'd like to preface my response with this...I did NOT attend this race.

Her's my take on it. If he was indeed interfered with on his first lap, and hte officials called it, why didn't they relay to the flagman to display the "White" a 2nd time? I've seen cars get a 3rd lap @ Knoxville, and they pull them straight to the front of the line to go back out there, not across the scales or from their pit stall, and that is only if they don't get them the 3rd lap while they are out there (not that hard with good radio communication).

Do I think there is some conspiracy? No. Maybe it's time to review the rules and do away with the drivers being able to ask for a 3rd lap. It should either be called at the time of the incident, or treated as though it never happened (the interference that is).

Just my $.02

If there truly was an "obstacle" on the track and he was waved off, I am sure they will make a point to have it in the broadcast.

Now don't go making sense!LOL We all know it's a conspiracy to help Donny because he is such a popular driver and the fans get all upset if he doesn't win . LOL

I was told by someone involved with production of the broadcast that they captured the incident and added interviews with Schatz, Kinser and Carlton Reimers that express all sides of the issue. All this is included in the broadcast to be seen next Sunday.

Carlton is going to try to be on the Full Throttle Racing Show for a few minutes prior to tomorrow's race at Lernerville to explain what happened regarding the decision made to allow Schatz the extra lap. I appreciate his efforts to give us a few minutes of his time considering he has race preparations to make and a drivers' meeting scheduled just a few minutes later.

The show is on at a special time...5pm eastern, 4pm central on www.dirtvision.com Tuesday night/afternoon, to coincide with the race broadcast. If you have serious questions about this that you'd like to ask Carlton Reimers, send them to fullthrottle1@mchsi.com.

Other guests lined up for Tuesday's show are Daryn Pittman, Davey Heskin and Greg Nicol from Speedway Motors. We may be adding one or two more guests.

we were there, listening to it in the car park.....when we went into the track, everyone was going nuts! I told the Mrs. when we heard it on the radio that it was the NEXT guy who qualified to get the extra lap! ok, let's see.......#1)...debris on he track.....#2)...Wilson on the track.... #3).....push truck on the track.....i'm sorry, but if there was THAT much shit on the track, I couldn't have gotten my little fat-ass around there!!! Now, I hate to bring up another sore subject, but how come when Caleb Griffith got a flat right rear, the WoO offical in turn 4 pull-off motioned him directly to his rig?......gee, Jason Sides did the same thing at the same time & damn!!!! right to the work area & changed it & was gone!!!! Caleb tried to come back out & they motioned him right back to his rig! oh yea, "the past half way rule", right? why does it work one way, & not another? everybody on this thread knows what Swamp & others are talking about....we just want to see a level playing field.....oh, anyone want to comment on the "beautiful" starts & restarts??? damn, i thought it was pretty simple! now i know you want to do everything you can to win, but if ya screw up, you should pay the penalty..i guess nobody saw anything wrong!!! a lot of people I talked to seemed to remember when Chad was an All Star & not a touring WoO regular & he got penalized @ Eldora for jumping the start...........AND HE WAS ON THE POLE!!!!!!!!!! (never seen that called before or since, & my eyes have seen 40+ yrs of this!) yea..yea.. i know.....don't give me the song & dance of being "on or off the throttle at a certain time...y'all know what we're saying!!

Ohio Speedweek champion gets $50,000 I believe.

Thats only for a driver that can win atleast 4 of the speedweek shows. Speedweek pays 10k to win the points and the allstar championship pays 50k to the overall winner.

If he was granted another lap, that is one thing. But if he got to take his car back to his pit? and if changes were made to the car for the third lap, that is another? For those that saw it first hand, what took place?????

I wonder if they remember that there are thousands of eyes on them? People watching from every angle around the track. It all gets seen and if they want to favor someone it will get noticed.

never mind us though. We only pay to see the race and their salary.

Now that Kinser can no longer dominate the sport like he used to, Its funny to see him act out. After a last lap slide job to lose the lead he no shows the 2nd place interview , throwing tantrums,
and threatening to take his ball and go home. Out of his thousands of races I have only witnessed about 30-40 on the west coast and can recall a few times he was given special WoO treatment. One year at the Gold cup he lost a muffler half way through the A main without any contact and went on to win even though he was way above the decibel level rule. Another time he brought out a back up car and still kept his starting position. In Arizona he pushed off to qualify and stopped on the back stretch. Then later given two laps. At Hanford he was involved in a 3 car spin. The other two went to the tail while Kinser got his place back even though it wasn't a protect the leader rule.

To provide my two cents, I take my scanner to every race and listen to the World of Outlaws frequencies. During Schatz's first lap, the officials indicated that the w20 may have interfered with his line. The question went out as to whether or not they give Schatz another lap and the response was to see if he requested one at the scales. Schatz finished his qualifying, rolled straight onto the scales, must have indicated that he was interfered with, because they rolled him directly off of the scales and to the front of the qualifying line to run a single lap. I have listened to the officials at many races and it is always the same deal. I cannot say for sure at the scales because I do not hear them talk to the driver, but it seems that they wait to see if the driver requests a lap after they have already indicated to themselves that he can have one if he requests it. No changes were made to the 15 car. He did not go back to his trailer. There was no phantom debris. The officials watched the Speed channel tapes when all of the fighting was going on and indicated that the w20 was clearly in the line he was taking.

Also, you will notice that Kinser's beef was with the Outlaws officials and NOT with the track. He knew that the extra lap had nothing to do with Tony or his employees. It was a World of Outlaws call and he took it up with them. Hopefully Speed does one thing right for the race and shows the footage of the qualifying lap so we can put this to bed once and for all.

mermaid, say it ain't so! You are gonna pop the bubble of a lot of people that don't want to believe it could be that simple. Conspiracy theory, cheating, posterboy, bosses track, say whatever you want to say, hopefully the SPEED channel will clear it all up. As for SK wearing an NST shirt, hasn't he already been down that road? I highly doubt he wants to try something like that for the 3RD time.
