Hey Mike, I saw the Stampeders booed off the stage in the early 70's here in my hometown, country music at a rock club didn't go well at all, lol. Take It Easy.....
PS There one big hit (Sweet City Woman) had to be before you were born, were or are you a fan?

I'll give credit where it's due.... I do believe the band TRIUMPH hails from the great north. What is it with Canadian bands only having three members? Greed? Damn I love their music to this day. Must be a time period thing?
Race, I always appreciate that account as well.
And I really get tired of the Canadian bashing from people here in the states at times. I know some damn good people from the land up north, and even more A-Holes from the land hither.

OHH, OOHHH, OOHHH, HOWIE MANDEL.

What does this unpatriotic nonsense have to do with a sprint car?
The hopeless desire to outrun Bud Grimm's Fords is
why central PA became the toughest place to race on
the planet. Even the KING couldn't run with Casey
Luna's Fords on a tacky track. It's a crying shame
that current car owners failed to notice.

Mikey, maybe five years ago at the Gold Cup the hosers were sitting around and someone came up with the question, who did Sweet City Woman. Lots of names came out but we knew they were wrong and we couldn't think of the right answer. Topwing gets the idea that MSPN might know. So he heads over to you booth, comes back, and this he blames on your accent mixed with his bad hearing. Anyway, he tells us MSPN said it was a Canadian guy. Stan Peters! Not sure how long we went around thinking this Peters guy had a big hit in the early 70s before we finally found out you had said Stampeders. This still comes up at Hoserville now and then.
I wish it were before my time, but actually, I'm sure I heard Dr. Don Rose play it on 610AM KFRC.

Canada also gave US the Cajuns and therefore Jason Johnson --- feeble attempt at making this thread sprint racing related...
