Someone mentioned that this was a sprint car board in this thread. That is not true anymore it is a general board that deals in sports, politics, bashing and jokes that are sometimes sprint car racing related. This ain't the same old Oldsmobile that it used to be.

Love your Avatar, great picture. I remember my dad was so upset when the short blocks came along and pushed the Offie's out, it was a sad time for him.

I really don't understand any objection to Tony Stewart information on this board. He is "from the dirt" from the start. But then, this isn't a dirt forum - it's a sprint forum... even if we don't talk as much about sprints on pavement. I guess being the first to win USAC sprints, midgets and dirt champ championships in the same season doesn't qualify him as a real racer? He runs the Chili Bowl every year - and we do talk about midgets and the Chili Bowl on this web site. Oops - can't do that any more either, I guess. AND - he happens to still run sprints on dirt as well, not to mention his dirt track that is a big sprint car track.
Grow up and find something worthwhile to bitch about. Some of y'all sound like a bunch of old ladies.
Sorry - I just had to add my 2 cents worth... which ended up being more than 2 cents worth - but with the inflation that's going on now.... oops... can't mention that either.

How bout we allow it to be a racing forum for sprint car fans. Not everyone hates Nascar, I personally hate the commercialization of the sport, But still watch it often....those dollars have helped give us some very stout sprint cars and put one of the most famous tracks(Eldora) in the hands of someone who is in it for the fans and racing. To the Nascar part, I don't think Gibbs needs to look anywhere but his developemt driver Joey Lagano for a replacement, if that becomes an issue. Congratulations to Kasey Kahne All Star win. I know people will say it was wrong he was voted in, but a bad year last year does not erase the fact that he is one of the best in the series and beyond. I was never a huge a fan because I was never much of a Dodge fan, but seeing him come run the Grove for less money for a night than he makes in a lap of Nascar was awesome. I became a bigger fan after that, not many people with a schedule that busy would do it. I really think Tony and Kasey are the best of both worlds. They make sprint car fans proud by running the way they do in Nascar, but they never forgot where they came from and make sacrifices for us fans to prove it. Off Topic, I know, but it helps justify a Nascar post on the board.
