What does adding nitro to oil help? Where could I learn more about this? Are you talking about a 4-stoke or 2-stroke engine?

Adding nitro to the oil is an old drag racer trick They loosened up the oil ring which caused it to burn oil. Since the oil had nitro mixed in it they were also burning nitro. Hard to detect since most techs do not do oil samples. This is done alot in Go-carts like Harddrive stated.

BRR will be happy to know that the latest breaking news on Fox is that Dem/Lib Nancy Pelosi is responsible for Waltrip's infraction.

Isn't jet fuel made out of Kerosene? If so does anybody on here know if there is any benefit to adding kerosene to race gas?

I was thinking the same thing. I would figure adding "jet fuel" would slow a race car down as Methanol, I would figure, is way more powerful. Now if it was a Nitro Gel then it is different not Jet fuel. Nitro gel would prolly help a little more with the low flow of oxygen at a plate race. Caue I was thinking that once it heats up it would begin to melt and add Nitrogen and much more needed oxygen to an engine that is being restricted from getting oxygen at a plate race.

Jet fuel is nothing but a high grade kerosene. To add it would do nothing but make smoke and reduce the octane (and power). The reports now say it was an oxidizer used in jet fuel, so it is my guess that they used potassium permanganate, an additive (oxidizer) used in jet fuel when it is made to help it burn better.

See an Oxidizer makes much more sense than the reports that are said. I agree, as I said, Jet fuel is just a High High grade Kero. Methanol would be more powerful than that stuff. However, an Oxidiser gel makes way more sense. It gets hot and turns to a gas inside the intake and would fuel that engine with tons of much needed Oxygen on a plate race.
Thing is I am not saying he ever has known or has known it was going on but that could be the reason behind DEI good at Plate races for years. JR was not running as good as normal (cause he didn't want it after others being caught) Thing is though, DEI prolly didn't use it much becuase I would assume it couldn't last more than a few laps.
Just like Nitro Pills in the Butterfly valve, for qualifying in Sprint cars. The thing breaks after about a lap and gives the engine a few seconds of Nitro power and burns out on the second qual lap. Not in the Engine and not in the Fuel tank but gives you a good second qual lap and a good starting spot.
