I really wish i was as prehistoric old as BRR. This video isn't history itself but the man in it is! I so wish I would have grew up watching Jack, Jan, Sammy, Steve, Wolf, Young Haud, ect....I am 26 today and for once I really wish i was way older so I would have gotten to see all those guys battle there lives out on the track for the name of the sport I love to my heart.

I know what you mean. We can go back in our dreams. I am a little older and I remember great times of watching the big cars at the Syracuse mile, Branson, Foyt, Andretti, at Terre Haute, Opp, Wolfgang, etc., at Manzy. Man, they were great times and I fell in love with this sport back then. You have still been able to see some great racers. Kinser, Dude, DeWease, Dollansky, Haud, and, oh, yea, Schatz. And Happy Birthday by the way. My grandson is visiting for the week here in Knoxville and he will be 9 on Friday and he gets to see his first race at Knoxville on Saturday. He cut his teeth on racing at Manzy and Jeremy Sherman.

Must have been a Penthouse interview. Raw

I am 52 years old and have been a race fan a mere 7 or 8 years. I am so disappointed in myself that it took my daughter to get me started in this and I missed so much. But I won't be too hard on myself. I will enjoy today's heroes and listen and learn about the ones I missed.
Hewitt is one I sure wished I would have seen!

Old fart here, I can't remember not watching sprints and the big cars running since I was a little kid. Ascot and Manzy mostly and the old Phoenix fairgrounds with the like's of Tony Sr, AJ, Jimmy Bryan, Eddie Sacks, Jud Larson, Pat O'conner, Pat Flaherty, Roger Ward, Rathmann and the rest of that bunch. I was a lucky kid, my dad started racing after the war back in Indy and I was always around it.
I was at that race in my avatar in 62, I was 14.

They missed the part when USAC said to Jack if he kept it up there would be a fine for verbal abuse He informed them if there was a fine it would be for physical abuse We worked most of the nite to get the car ready for Springfield the next day just to get rained out
