Pete, how bout just answering the question...? Where is the point fund coming from? Straight up , no other answer needed. One question one answer! Give us a name to buy parts from so we can support those who "sponser us". I expect a name.

The answer is the answer, when the deal is done, the announcement will be made. I am not sure what the "us" is, please clarify. Do you have a race car? Why is it parked? When is the last time you raced? I am curious, what are the pressures on you that keep you from racing? Or are you a crew member?
Rubberdarn, how can you expect a name when you aren't willing to reciprocate and share yours friend?
The fact is good things are going on and real effort is being put into making this deal as good as it can be. I sense you dislike that. Do you? Or do you see these as positive steps?
Where do you want to see this go? What do you expect to experience? Intelligent, practical and reasoned input is needed and wanted. But to be constructive, it should be offered with out the bitter tones. Yes?
Pete

Pete I have to comment with regards to your post regarding Peter Murphy and his friendliness and his mentoring (all of which is true) but that you hope someday down the line Danny Sheridan and Davey Pombo will do the same! Where have you been all these years? I can honestly say that Danny and Davey have always been friendly and helpful. From day one when my son, Evan, starting driving it was Danny and Davey who were there to help with anything needed. Noticably, the most successful drivers at the time with the Bandits, always in the top 3, Evan sought their help and advice. Danny spent hours on the phone talking setups and walking Evan through it all while the car was on the scales, this continued when Evan moved to USAC/CRA. Davey and his brother, Anthony, were there from day one too whether it was to answer a question or help when something went wrong. They and their crew member, Steven, helped us so much all the time. I know of 2 nights where after wrecking in the heat race that if it weren't for the Pombos Evan wouldn't of made it back out to race those nights. It was Peter, who after not making the feature the first night of Dirt Cup last year, who made his way to Evan's car on a red and gave him the run down about who was behind him and how much faster Evan was and that the race was his to win and he did win. Peter was one of the first to congratulate him too. So please Pete when you talk of hoping drivers down the line will be there to mentor, socialize and talk to the younger drivers please include Danny and Davey with Peter right now. They have always been there and done just that. I'm sure there are others too willing to help. That's what it's all about, right?

Linda, that was not a slight on those guys at all and I am glad for and proud of those guys. You of all people should know that. As you are aware they are currently with CRA and getting more experience. I would bet, both are smarter and more knowlegable than 3 years ago when Evan ran as a bandit.
The fact that you missed Linda was those fine guys are racing in a different division. They are not here right now. Peter is. And that is a current benefit and although I singled him out, his experience vastly out weighs any body ever in any 360 series in these parts. Agreed? And, like you mention, he is not stand offish and is a friend to our sport.
I have never known Davey or Danny or many other veterans to not help. Jerry Mack and a few others come to mid too for recent times. Linda, I would hope you think deeper about what is going on and not take things as a slight or attack on anyone. I don't do that. I try to point out current good and positive things. To be forced to list and track everyones good deeds when mentioning positive actions by anyone is simply ridiculous and petty.
In short, without condesending, a compliment for one does not equate to a slight for another.
the not as good Peter

Peter my only issue with your initial post was that you made it seem by mentioning Danny & Davey specifically, 4/23 post (2nd. paragraph, last sentence...."A few years down the line, I hope to see Sheridan and Pombo among others doing the same." Implying that they haven't already done so and they have.
I agree you don't have to list and track good deeds done by others when mentioning positive actions by anyone else, but by the same token, don't put names in and write you hope to see them doing the same when in fact they already have.
Watch out come May 3rd. you might just have Danny there as CRA is off . I am sure he and Peter would put on quite a SHOW. If Evan wasn't racing with Golden State at American Valley in Quincy that night we'd just have to come down and watch all of our good racing friends put on a great show.

Mr. Costa, with the recent announcement of the second open competition in Victorville on May 31, can we expect to see Team Tarlton there? If the purses remain the same, I believe it is an extra grand to win in a 360. According to what Peter Curto said, the Bandits are running that night at Kings Speedway, but do you think they will at least consider it? I could possibly see this upcoming event at Victorville as being a shootout between the best drivers in California and Arizona. Thank you for your time Mr. Costa, have a great day.

I've got a suggestion, drop the Bandit race on 5/31,allow your guys to assist Victorville in getting 60-70 good teams competing that weekend.I know you scheduled your race last fall so it would be a great show of sportsmanship on your part, think about it,two organization working together for the best interest of sprint car owners/drivers.

Why not have victorville reschedule the Bandit schedule has been out for a while now the victorville show wasn't scheduled till now.Better sportmanship to not conflict with others schedules.

According to an earlier post, every other series is dark on the evening of May 31st. Why can't the Bandits and Kings Speedway do the same thing they are doing this weekend, move their race to Friday night. I seem to recall Daveyboy writing that the reason for this change was to give the Bandit drivers the chance to race at other race tracks on Saturday night. Why not do the same here? This would give the Teams in the Bandit series an opportunity to participate in the Victorville Open Comp. race, and win some big money.

I don't even know if the Bandit guys are interested in running at Victorville.I just thought it might be nice to see some of their best participate.I know the drivers/owners are loyal to that series and therfore would'nt break ranks, but it would be nice to see something worked out...heck The purse for Victorville 2 hasn't even been posted yet.........

Glad you you agreed with me regarding my response regarding Sheridan & Pombo.
Believe me, regarding the 2nd. post, it was a given. Whenever you have Danny racing, 360's or 410's you know he is going to give it his all and entertain the grandstands. Danny, Davey, Peter, Rusty & Albert among others are sure to make every race exciting when they are on the track. Congratulations to Danny.
Not sure where you are from but May 25th. USAC/CRA will be at Tulare and I can guarantee you that you will see one heck of a show, Danny, Mike, Tony, Davey, just to name a few will fill and thrill the grandstands I'm sure. Golden State doesn't have a race that weekend and we plan to be there to see all of our friends that Evan raced with when he ran non wing. Good luck to all of them!
