Good Guess on the car number!! This is the 55 car that was driven by Alan Combs of Herington Ks. This car won the 1976 and the 1977 track championships at Salthawk Speedway. In the history of this track there were only two drivers to pull off back to back championships. The late Henry Ellington and Alan Combs. This car gave me the start in the Race Engine Bussiness. I was 16 years old when we won the first of two championships and the car carried my engines. The ironic thing was that the biggest engine that we had was a 331 and sometimes we ran a 292. These where very small v-8s fo a 3500# car. I wonder wear this car is now??? Bruce Serene Hillsboro Racing Engines.
