Here are a couple of pictures of some contractors in Anaconda Iraq that have turned into huge CRA fans. Although they have never seen a race live, they watch the video clips each week and have just about every race on DVD. They do plan on visiting Perris when they get home.

"Here we are standing in front of the closest thing we can come to a Sprint car over here. What this machine does for a living is search for land mines so the disposal team can clean it up.

That's me on the right this time wearing Sheridan's shirt… Carlton changed into the Ripper and Young Walter… well, I let him wear MY Tony shirt. LOL

I couldn't pick on you about the gray hair… I think I have you beat.

Tonight is race night… it's Carlton's turn to buy the pizza pies and my turn to buy the near beer. We are going to watch the 17 November 2007 Jack Kindoll Classic."

Thanks for posting the pics Jeff, that was pretty cool….. Thanks again for the T Shirts, that was an awesome surprise.

Hello everybody from the Tony Jones and CRA Fan Club, “Iraq Chapter” !!!!!

Man let me tell ya, you guys are truly blessed out there at the PAS.  From the promoter and track crews, drivers, owners, fans and IMO Scott Dalosio is the best damn announcer I have ever heard.  Then to have it packaged up by Jeff @ Raceway Video and the incredible job he does shooting the events and editing them for production; you guys and gals really have a great thing going out there.

I started downloading the clips a year ago, mainly to stave off the hunger for races since we don’t get to see many over here; when they are on its pretty late at night due to the time difference.  Anyhow, from Jeff’s clips friends of mine and I became a pretty big fan of Tony Jones, a lot of the ’06 clips showed the comical side.  It wasn’t long that seeing the clips once a week, it wasn’t enough….. so I started ordering the DVDs, at first it was only races Tony won but we really enjoyed the shows you guys put on and it took off from there.  So far I have every race of the season for 2006, 2007 and whats current this year.  We haven’t seen them all yet but every Saturday night here in Iraq, we take turns buying pizza and watch a night of racing.

Carlton is from Florida and I from Arizona are the old timers, both having raced before and being a fan of racing all our lives and for Walter, there is no turning back now for the youngster from Texas we got him HOOKED on open wheel sprints.

I plan on making a trip out to the PAS in the very near future, I have to see it in person and I very much want to meet everyone I have become a fan of.

Quick story on the pics.  We are limited as to where we can take pictures, I would have preferred to take some sitting in or next to the F-16s we have here but taking pics on the flight line is very bad Ju-Ju.  The scorpion is hand made from scrap wood and MRE boxes, it’s been a fixture on this base for 5 years now.  The armored sprint car looking thing is pretty neat looking but handles like a pig going into the corners.

Take care everyone,

Rob Butterfield

I personally want to thank you guys for serving our country! I work for Continental Airlines as a mechanic and when Carlton from Florida wants to fly out look me up and I will try to get you hooked up with a buddy pass, if there are some empty seats on the plane , so you can all make the trip together! I live in Stanfield, AZ and we can just load up in the dually and head on over!
