Hello race fans,

Today, May 5th, 2008 marks the 24th anniversary of the first time that I, Dean Mills ever picked up a video camera and shot an automobile race. Cinco De Mayo of 1984 was the date, and Placerville Speedway in Northern California was the scene of my first foray into racing videography. This coming weekend's USAC race at Bloomington Speedway will mark the official start to my 25th year shooting sprint car racing, and I am pretty excited about the fact that I am still around doing it. A lot of guys have come and gone since I started doing this. In all this time, I have had the good fortune to be the official videographer of the Placerville Speedway (1984 - 1995), Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, CA (1989 - 1995), The Jimmy Sills School of Open Wheel Racing (1993 - 1995), The Sprint Car Racing Association (1994 - 2002), the All-Star Circuit of Champions (2003 - 2005), and the United States Auto Club (2005 - current), as well as numerous television productions, open competition events, and various sanctioned races over the years.

In the next couple of days, we will be adding to my site, highlight packages of the POWRi Midget event from Macon a week ago Saturday night, the USAC National Sprint Car event at Brownstown Speedway this past Saturday, as well as the MSCS Sprint Car event from the newly re-opened Terre Haute Action Track yesterday (Sunday night). Stay tuned for those highlight clips to show up, starting tomorrow.

Congrats Dean - cool stuff! Sticking with it has paid off in many, many ways I'm sure. Hopefully I'll see you in Belleville.

For being 13 yrs old, it was a great 1^st time video! The cameras, lighting, etc., have improved but you are still doing a great job. Wow… 24 years ago and still going strong! You need to make a 25 year anniversary video tape of all the great highlights you have. Keep continuing what you are doing another 100 years! We enjoy watching all the Midwestern stuff you put up each week.
