How can Doug Auld in Sprint Car and Midget who claims to be a Christian possibly think saying Goddamn on the pa system is a good thing? NASCAR is totally bogus, artificial, worthless etc but using God's name is such a way will always be wrong and unacceptable. Sprint car racing passion and sincerity is awesome but TMAC was way out of line. Just because the lost souls associated with corporate sponsors endorse promiscuous sex life and other blatant sins, doesn't make it all right. The f word is far less offencive to me than cursing my God.

The hopeless desire to outrun Bud Grimm's Fords is
why central PA became the toughest place to race on
the planet. Even the KING couldn't run with Casey
Luna's Fords on a tacky track. It's a crying shame
that current car owners failed to notice.

I doubt he had much of an intention of offending anyone or their beliefs. I think you may have taken that a bit out of context.

My gods couldn't really care less if I say "goddamn". I'm sorry to hear that your god is so easily offended.

I get frustrated that sprint car fans are often considered less than brilliant and crude, then I read responses like these.

I get frustrated when people assume that the whole world is Christian and needs to live by Christian rules.

By the way, I have a lot of promiscuous sex (with men and/or women - gasp!) and I cuss a lot and I blatantly sin as much as possible, and so far it hasn't interfered at all with the sport of sprint car racing. But maybe you should make sure you don't accidentally sit next to my godless heathen lost soul at a race this summer. I might be contagious.

I'm not what I consider a large user of profanity but if you were offended by that statement you obviously haven't spent much time in a dirt track pit area.

Duchess, are you serious about the men/or women thing, or are you just trying to steer more folks to your website? I remember you saying that it picked WAY up last time you said you;d kiss a girl (not that there's anything wrong with that!).

Ha ha. No, that's not my purpose. I don't get a lot of traffic from here anyway, so most of the time I forget the link is in my sig.

I'm just making the point that not all of us in the sport are Christians or are concerned about Christian values and we shouldn't have to answer to those who are. There is this assumption that racing fans are all Christian Republican straight white people - look at anything Nodust posts as an example. I am a big flaming liberal tree-hugging bi woman and surprise! I'm a sprint car fan! Nobody ever worries about offending me, so I'm not going to get too upset about "goddamn".

It's about separation of church and racing. ~wink, wink~

I'm a liberal sprintcar fan too. In fact I went to college for environmental studies and will be attending law school this year focusing in environmental law. I guess you could call me a tree-hugger.

Thats cool. Hey man while in your profession you should look into the removal of asbestos.

I worked in the abatement field for awhile and between the EPA's BS and contractors hiring illegal labor.......it just kinda ruined it for me. EPA leaves the cost of removal to the building owner, and along with the department of labor does not enforce very strict regulations on the removal of it (they do - it is just on paper). The guy I worked for was one of the best fellas I ever knew.......but because he followed DOL and EPA regulations and DIDN'T USE ILLEGAL LABOR he could not bid as high as other contractors.......who are absolutely horrible in their techniques of removal (little or no protection) and use cheap illegal labor. In the end our company went under as we didn't have a chance of competing for bids for those reasons. This may have nothin to do with what you will do in your career, but more people that call the shots in the environmental field should be made aware of things like this. I'm sure lead-based paint removal and other things have these same problems.

damn, woman, I am anything but a radical right wing Christan Conservative.

I could care less if you like the girls as well as they guys. No home runs with you and me anyway

I do believe in God, but I am not a church goer, I do however live with my vow of poverty I took to myself with God.

I vowed to only keep enough money for me to survive, and give the rest of my money and time to those who need it more than I do.

I do admit to being white, but really, I had very little to do with the color choice, but am comfortable being this color.

You are mad at me mainly because I think your "flaming Liberal" people are nut cases, which they are, but the Republicans have their Kooks also such as most of the ones who run for office.

Have a great day, and be sure to not only vote, but work for the Kook of your choice, with you on their side, they will have an uphill battle.

Luv ya

Duane
