Thanks Cary! We are really looking forward to the event. This will be our first but hopefully not last trip to Victorville from AZ.

For those who were not in attendance for the first race, it was a barn-burner. Very aggressive driving and the track was superb. It was perfect for race teams and fans. Thanks again to Mr. Faas and Mr. Gardner. We will be there early for hot laps. I can't tell you how much we enjoyed the race. Victorville has a very bright future with their sprint car shows. And it should be a little warmer this time. Add another great sprint car track for southern California race fans.

Hell, Rip might heal up for this 20K start from the rear. And maybe Cory can spring for $80 nerf bars this time.

I love Ventura and their tight and racy 1/4 or 1/5 mile track with VRA on a weekly basis, and its near my home.

Perris is well Perris, a small 1/2 mile with CRA every 2 weeks. Nothing wrong with it, and the highlight of my racing year is the OVAL NATIONALS.

BUT Victoriville sounds like the perfect track for sprint cars at 3/8, they pay great purses, and there not asking the fans to pay the purses and/or point championships. (I know Perris put in $500, but really how much do the racers put in for pit passes for the season at the PAS LOL) For the regular season, if I am going to have to drive 2 hours to see 410's race, I think I will support Victorville because THEY are supporting the drivers and/or owners. (However, if the show is not good, not enough cars, track prep etc, Perris would get my money but my guess is that all 3 tracks, or for that matter most tracks will put on a good show these days or we will hear about it on here.

But I hope Perris and CRA feel ashamed that they are still only paying roughly $2,500 to win a feature even on the Holiday Events like Memorial, Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, while many other short tracks around the country will pay much more (10K). I know Perris can't pay 5k every race, but maybe they could for the Holiday races.

Bottom Line Competition is good for everyone, it gives the drivers, owners, and fans options, plus Cary is doing these races on off CRA weekends!

How about a big race on Sunday night during the OVAL Nationals, sure would be cool to see some of the big USAC stars race at Victorville for 20K too, but than maybe that is not the purpose. That would wake up USAC though!

What a cool idea to run one of these Victorville events right after the Oval Nationals. I'd go!

jdfast, great post. Now let me confuse you with some facts.....Ventura is 1/5 mi....CRA was a great group....USAC CRA sucks...Victorville is 1/4 mi.[actually about1200 at the poll]...last years regular Sprint car purse was $700 to win based on a 20 car count [5% less for each car less tha 20..i.e 15 cars paid $525 to win.] great purse your ass.......there is no points fund and even as a member, there is no drivers ins. as with VRA and USAC...Perris has done some great promotions culmanating in a great FREE 4th of July fireworks program....Cary Faas and Jack Gardner paid for the april 19 race and are paying for the May 31 race themselves and yes it's a great event, great for the drivers, great for the fans, great purse

My vote would be for a Turkey Night GP on Thursday night! I am sure we could build up the purse and take half of Irwindale's fans to show JC how stupid Pavement Racing is!

Probably gets a bit chilly out in Victorville in late November. However, who cares about going Christmas shopping on the day after Thanksgiving. How about a similar non-sanctioned midget race at Victorville on the day after Thanksgiving day. Most of the best teams would still be in the southland and it could add a bit more money for them to stay out here another day. A two track double header.

oh boy...i would love for this to happen. there is a problem though...the teams would have to bring there dirt cars as well (unless turkey night got moved back to the dirt...). there are the super teams that have the capacity to do it, but not a lot. it would be like the late 90's when they went to perris the saturday after thanksgiving.

btw, victorville is a reasonably large town, so all of you (or your wives) who would like to go shoping for the after thanksgiving sales would be able to do so...he he

I wouldn't miss Turkey Night at Victorville unless I was dead, but I don't think it will ever happen. The stands at Irwindale are some of the nicest in Southern California and at least twice the capacity of Victorville. And they filled much of the seating on Turkey Night last year. Turkey Night belongs on dirt. But I am echoing someone else who wrote that no dirt venue in the area has the seating capacity to lure the promoters, the Agajanians. That said, I went to Turkey Night at Irwindale last year and it was a waste of time and money. I will not go again. Turkey Night belongs on dirt. All that aside, I hope someday, any day, midgets do put on a show at Victorville. I'm there.

KOP. I believe that the purse is posted at http://www.caryfaasracing.com/ Just click on the race rules, and it will have the break out at the top of the rules.

What do you think if a 360 goes all the way from the back ??/ 40,000 or 30,000 That would be kind of a crazy question and what about these teams??? think someone will throw a new tire on to start from the back and have their partners sorta throw a gnarly 360 in the front row so that it sorta uh yeah well I dont think anyone will do that no way its not worth it///// ---Shooter---

Hey guys, looks like some great racing weather this Saturday night and sounds like a great event so I think I'm going throw some of that $4+ gallon liquid gold in my truck and head up the hill for some of my favorite methonal burning, clay slinging, wheel standing action!!! Just one question...I see the show starts at 7pm, but what time are hot laps and qualifying??? I'm assuming cars hit the track at 5pm, but just want to be sure! See ya there
