Topic: USAC/CRA fans in Iraq

If you were at Perris Saturday night or if you watched this weeks "clip of the week" you might have heard Scott mention some new fans of CRA and sprint car racing in general. These are a bunch of guys stationed in Anaconda Iraq that happened to link to my site somehow and got hooked on the racing and have become fans of Tony Jones. They ordered a bunch of DVD's and they look forward each week to catching the new video clip highlights. This past Saturday night Tony Jones and Scott D gave them a shout out which I included as part of the clip this week. Below is a e-mail that was received today by myself as well as to Tony and Alexander racing;
"Hey everybody,
I just ordered a bunch of videos from www.racewayvideo.com and got a little dialog going with Jeff. I alerted him that the package arrived safely and I am enjoying everything so far. Jeff tells me today to look at the clip of the week, said I might get a kick out of it. Boy did I……
Man let me tell you…. for Jeff @ Raceway videos to set it up for Tony to give me a personal shout out like that to me and my buddies here….. WOW... I cannot tell you how much that meant to us; what an enormous moral boost. Then for the announcer to carry on the way he did….. Unbelievable!!!! I am truly touched, the guys and I hit the roof and thought it was the coolest thing.
I don't know what to say except….. GO ALEXANDER RACING and TONY JONES"
It just blows me away that so little, goes so far and means so much. These guys have their life on the line everyday so that we can go racing and live our lives the way we are used to. I would like to take it another step and send them a little care package. If anyone would like to donate a t-shirt or hat or anything race related, I'll make sure they get it. Jeff,
How about we put together a care basket for these guys! I will chip in $50 to whatever else you can collect to send these Awesome men and women as many DVD's as possible! I can not even imagine what they are going through to protect our freedoms!

Thanks Joe, but we dont need to collect money for DVD's, thats covered. Whatever else you can come up with will be welcome.

Thanks and I am proud of you guys. Our son is serving in Iraq and we know that any stuff from home is welcomed and appreciated. Care packages are so valued.
We send over movies and stuff. One thing in general that can be used is old DVD's for those in hospitals layed up. If you ever get the opportunity.

I was just in a meeting at work and found out that Continental Airlines flies relief supplies into Iraq for the troops. I asked one of the VP's to see if I get any discounts, like we do for normal shipping, and he said that he would get back to me. So lets everyone try to come up with something to donate.
Can you try to find out from your contact at Anaconda if there are other bases we can send some stuff to if you we get more donations?

Jeff, we will donate T shirts. Find out what sizes they wear and how many T shirts are needed.

Jeff,
All I can say is that you absolutely rock. That is a fantastic thing that you and Tony did for those guys, and on behalf of every citizen of the United States, I say thank you for taking care of the guys who are taking care of us. I am glad that your videos give them some much needed levity in their situation. And to the soldiers who are fighting over there, keep on keeping on. The fact that these guys are fans of sprint car racing and are watching highlights from Iraq is incredible.
