Hello race fans,

Today, May 5th, 2008 marks the 24th anniversary of the first time that I, Dean Mills ever picked up a video camera and shot an automobile race. Cinco De Mayo of 1984 was the date, and Placerville Speedway in Northern California was the scene of my first foray into racing videography. I have put up a clip of the first race I ever shot for your amusement on the front page at www.millsvideoproductions.com

This coming weekend's USAC race at Bloomington Speedway will mark the official start to my 25th year shooting sprint car racing, and I am pretty excited about the fact that I am still around doing it. A lot of guys have come and gone since I started doing this. In all this time, I have had the good fortune to be the official videographer of the Placerville Speedway (1984 - 1995), Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, CA (1989 - 1995), The Jimmy Sills School of Open Wheel Racing (1993 - 1995), The Sprint Car Racing Association (1994 - 2002), the All-Star Circuit of Champions (2003 - 2005), and the United States Auto Club (2005 - current), as well as numerous television productions, open competition events, and various sanctioned races over the years.

In the next couple of days, we will be adding to my site, highlight packages of the POWRi Midget event from Macon a week ago Saturday night, the USAC National Sprint Car event at Brownstown Speedway this past Saturday, as well as the MSCS Sprint Car event from the newly re-opened Terre Haute Action Track yesterday (Sunday night). Stay tuned for those highlight clips to show up, starting tomorrow.

Thanks for your interest. Sincerely,

Dean Mills

Congrats Mr. Mills, the video version of Kevin Eckert in this sport and as much fun and just as good a conversation in real life. You've made Mr. Sinatra proud by doing it 'your way'. Take It Easy.....

PS Few people celebrated victory like Randy Tiner, thanks for the flashback.....

Hey Dean - if you could add that clip to the highlights page I'll be able to enjoy it - for some odd reason your clips never show up on your home page for me. I don't know if it's my browser (Firefox) or what (I've tried it with IE as well - no go) but the only way I can watch your highlights is by downloading from the "Video Clips" page. Anybody else have that problem???

I have rectified that problem now. You can view the clip at the following address, or by accessing my "Video Clips" page...Here:

I know what you are saying about the player not loading, though. I just bought a Mac, and the clips from the player won't load on that, but they do on my laptop. I am not sure why, and I will have to look into it. But, it is now up for you folks to see. It's pretty embarrasing, but I was only 13 at the time.

Thanks for your interest. Sincerely,

DM

Congratulations Dean

We've have watched your video's, since day one and have always been impressed with your ability.

As you grew, so did your talent. Watching you and R. Frank, hanging off the back of a vehicle with your camera, as the racing field would roar to action, was something else. When ever some new equipment became available, you were on top of it. The nights you stayed up so late to get your clips to Speed vision, etc.

You have worked hard to be where you are and for your success. Thanks so much for your contribution to racing, and all best wishes for your success to raise you to even a higher level

Agains, Congratulations
