Beautiful example of outstanding workmanship.
Those were the days. I cut my proverbial racing teeth on the supermodifieds of the San Diego Racing Association back in the late 50s and early 60s. Got to see the "Twister" a couple of times during that period. Ah the memories -- the Peat Brothers T-bodied modified, Art Pratt's Buick powered Fiat, Don Thomas' home-made roadster(s), Parnelli Jones in the Vel's Ford #97, Bobby Hogle and on and on. Balboa Stadium was a great spectator facility and I spent a lot of Saturday nights there until racing was kicked out of the stadium when the Chargers moved to town. I understand even Balboa Stadium disappeared back in the 70s as it wasn't built to earthquake standards. However, I still remember some tremendous nights of racing.

I looked at that picture and then the name and said to myself,"who in the hell is that", he stole Hanks car! LOL This is Hank Arnold's history. This site has just been reworked. http://www.hankarnold.com/Home/tabid/59/Default.aspx
