Beautiful example of outstanding workmanship.
Those were the days. I cut my proverbial racing teeth on the supermodifieds of the San Diego Racing Association back in the late 50s and early 60s. Got to see the "Twister" a couple of times during that period. Ah the memories -- the Peat Brothers T-bodied modified, Art Pratt's Buick powered Fiat, Don Thomas' home-made roadster(s), Parnelli Jones in the Vel's Ford #97, Bobby Hogle and on and on. Balboa Stadium was a great spectator facility and I spent a lot of Saturday nights there until racing was kicked out of the stadium when the Chargers moved to town. I understand even Balboa Stadium disappeared back in the 70s as it wasn't built to earthquake standards. However, I still remember some tremendous nights of racing.

Isn't that Hank Arnolds Twister ?
We have the pleasure of seeing this car every year at Manzanita.
And what a sight it is to behold.

I'm sorry, was it Hank Arnold? I've always had a problem keeping the names straight.

Did Harold Leep ever drive this car or one just like it at Manzy in the Western World?

There is a real nice sunset shot taken by Mike Arthur of that car on one of the last two pages of the 2007 Paul Oxman Sprint Racing Calendar.
