Like him or not, Schatz has them all covered. Including the king himself. After this year there will be no * by his name. Donny will be hard to handle come Nationals time.

I'll bet there will be a few thousand Posse fans that care this weekend. They will most likely leave the track pissed when Donny pulls into victory lane 2 or 3 times over the next 3 nights.

Jealous?

The guy is the best racer in the country. He isn't real exciting but he is beginning to compare to the big 3 for sure. He keeps things simple and knows who to get to build his engines.
The hopeless desire to outrun Bud Grimm's Fords is
why central PA became the toughest place to race on
the planet. Even the KING couldn't run with Casey
Luna's Fords on a tacky track. It's a crying shame
that current car owners failed to notice.

Schatz is on top of his game right now and is on fire. But to compare him to Steve Kinser, Sammy Swindell or Doug Wolfgang is just rediculous. He hasn't even passed Stevie Smith yet on the WoO alltime wins list, and he's been running part time now for about 5 years.

C'mon Harker, he said , "he's just beginning to compare." I tend to agree with both of you. It seems to be Schatz's time and he is just beginning to compare with the big three. We can all agree that no one can ever compare to Steve Kinser's 500 plus wins. Sammy Swindell was good in his time as was Doug Wolfgang. It's always a little sad to see the changing of the old guard isn't it?
I for one, like to see the new ones also that have talent and have proven they are good racers. I don't believe it's either or, they all deserve to be honored. I salute them, the "Big Three" and the new comers, the up and coming ones that are showing success right now.

Brent Kaeding has been using Shaver engines for as long as I can remember and he is winning many races this year also!
I am glad they got the race in tonight and I hope it was a good one! I went to Lernerville for the first time about a month ago to see a 410 show and I really liked the track and the facility. It seems like Schatz is the new driver everyone loves to hate, lol.
Congradulations to our local driver, Jason Meyers for getting 2nd at the Kings Royal last weekend!

Schatz is definitely the man right now. I really thought Saldana would be the one to beat but Donny has stepped up to the plate and delivered. Not meaning to start anything but the #9 started falling off the pace just a little after the race in Paducah when he and Lasoski's wings were taken by the WoO officials.
However there will never be another "3" like the original. Yesterday I was surfing on Eckert's webpage and looked up Kinser's driver report. Just scrolling through all of those years and races both WoO and other sanctioning bodies just really put things in perspective. Somewhere around 850 recorded feature wins. Just incredible!

Schatz is threatening to be 6th all time in career wins by the end of this year (currently 8th). He is still only 29 years old. He has raced with the WoO for 10 years, one of which was part time. He has now won the BIG 5 races (Only 2 others have done it). By the end of this year he will be averaging 7 wins per season and that number is climbing.
Yes, Donny is beginning to put himself up there with the Big 3. He is the best there is today. Some legends and some very knowledgeable people have put him in there Top 5 or Top 10 lists of all-time drivers. That is saying something for a guy that is 29 years old and only really began making noise in the last 3 years.
Admit it or not, that is your choice. Deny that there is a changing of the guard, be stubborn if you want.

Maybe he can now buy him and his jackass Father some personalities.

Personality like Sammy? Like Steve? Heck, even Wolfie isn't exactly bubbling with character.
The funniest thing ever to come out of Steve's lips were "It's just another race" at the Nationals last year.
If you have to have personality to be in the big three, we wouldn't have a big three.

He's won every major now plus the WoO championship.
Not meaning any disrespect to Wolfie, but the WoO championship did elude him.
WTG Donny and the whole team, congratulations!

I liked your last line. Thanks for putting that into perspective for us. In my opinion the only thing "The Big Three" had in common was their talent for driving.
Now lets watch and see who is proving they have talent not just a personality. When it comes to racers I'll take talent over personality any day.
