Thanks for the Plug

I reviewd the final version of the show yesterday and it looks really good.

Looks like the NASCAR rain delay has NOT affected the WoO show today. It's still on at 2 p.m. Eastern/1 p.m. Central on SPEED.

I thought it was a great show. Really enjoyed it. Yes, dusty, but the cameras were able to see through it for the most part.

It will only get better.

Thanks

I did not think it was good at all. I would rather listen to JG, he makes any race sound good. I wish they had someone announcing it like you were there live. That would make it a lot better.

Thought the production was pretty good. My 2 cents:

Pros - Cameras looked good and shot selection was good. Buckley did a great job in the pits. Gerould and Doty sounded good, though I think it will take a couple of shows to get used to each other. They took crappy race conditions and made the best of it. End of the Feature was exciting, like the replays. The leaderboard and timing/scoring was great.

Cons - A bit 'over produced'. I don't think it's necessary to hype the drivers so much, especially in the opening segment. Show the Heats! More on-track action and less filler. A yellow for a car with a flat tire should be briefly mentioned, then back to racing - no need to spend the actual 2 minutes of airtime talking about it.

I may be nitpicking a little, but overall I thought it was good.

Caught a bit of the broadcast...Gerould and Doty will be a hit...nice job for a non-Eldora-like track and the first go-around...looking forward to more...

Quality was awesome. Commenters were great. Pit reporter did a great job.

My only beef is that in the first half hour, I think we saw 6 laps of actual racing. (Dash).

Outdoor managed to get most if not all of the heats in. If the idea is to build more audience and fans...then you need to show more racing, and not so much the driver profile stuff. They aren't quite as polished as the NAPCAR boys...they do their talking on the track. So show more of it! Smile

It looks like they put "Field Dirt" on the track. Bad move. This mistake has been made over and over at other tracks that I have been to over the years. Why don't they understand the quality of the clay will make or break the track preparation. It looks like they went out in the middle of one of Darke counties corn fields and picked up the dirt. 1pm Mountain and 12 Noon Pacific.  Never understand why only Eastern and Central are the only times given.  There are TV west of the Mississippi.

Bobby Gerould and Brad Doty were fantastic. There's a certain way television has to be broadcast, and for my dollar, they nailed it. Video was good, loved the camera angle going into turn 1.
