Saturday's Round Two of the California Sprint Car Civil War Series has been CANCELLED due to forecasts of rain. The Friday Outlaw Karts program is STILL ON.

Seems like too much caution is being excerised here to cancel a Saturday race in "California" on Friday morning. We all know in NorCal that the weather prediction today is probably not what it will really be! Oh, well. See Gary's Watsonville post if you don't believe me. Just seems like "overkill" in Marysville.
I just checked MSN weather and as of 1:27pm today it is calling for "sprinkles" tomorrow and not even rain. I would have waited at least till tomorrow morning, that's alot of money to lose if it could have been run. Just my opinion, though.

With the cost of gas what it is and the forcast as it stands, would you rather waste the money on a rain-out or save it for another day? I think the thought is they are saving the fans the hassle and rain check issue.
80% chance of rain with 29% of thunderstorms in Wville is a pretty good indication that the Chico-Marysville area is gonna get a dumping.
Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool,
but then I'm not 16 so therefore my opinion is of no
consequence...

I'm liking the new management team at Marysville already - they seem a lot less delusional then the last batch. Last year when we were enduring weather that had some wondering where to build the Ark they would wait until Saturday to cancel. Sounds like a fairly smart bunch to me and I can't wait to see the facility from what I've heard.

I am with you Sandy. Wait till Saturday to make the call. I'm pretty sure not many of the teams are leaving tonight, so why not wait till the morning? Even if it does rain tommorow, I still think you gotta wait till Saturday in this kind of situation. You really don't have much to lose if you wake up early Saturday and make a decision by say, 9 am. Hopefully this will send a few cars to Watsonville if it runs.
I can't wait to check Marysville out myself.

I agree with Gary. The weather is constantly changing and it is only right to cancel a race the morning of the race, in my opinion. I wonder if they are going to try and reschedule it?

No gas wasted for me if a race is cancelled Saturday morning. The day before seems extreme to me. Imagine if they did that in the midwest during the summer, they'd never have a race.
