I've been watching//istening to Imus on and off for years...
What I don't get is that as terrible as his words were, they were not said in malice. It was said in humor (even though not funny).
What is the difference between Dave Chappelle saying HO and Don Imus saying HO if they were done in exactly the same context.
Makes me disrespect Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson even more!!!!
This politically correct shit is gonna be wonderful when we all bow to Allah....

I just heared his show got the axe. I haven't followed the Imus fuss real close, all I heared was that what he said was something along the lines as "nappy-headed hoes"... Anyone know exactly what it was that he said that got him in front of the firing squad?

Considering the amound of crap IMUS and others in the business talk on people for saying/doing stupid-ass things.................that jackass shoulda known better. He really should have. I see what most say about being politically correct..........I'm as far from it as one can get, but the guy has a show that criticizes all the idiots in this country (there are lots).......so what does he expect when he says something like that............what goes around comes around.

Think if your daughter was involved in something like the run the Rutgers team had, and some jackass with a national platform called her a ho. How would you like that?

no sh*t. They did do great. Speaking of Rutgers............after the OU-Oregon debacle I still cheered for my Sooners (more like bitched) but the highlight of last season NCAA football was watching Rutgers football. You gotta love the underdogs. That game they played against Lousville was among the best I saw all season. I may be an Okie and a Sooner Fan...........but of all the east coast schools I sure do like them Scarlet Knights.
And yes..............it was a stupid thing to say. And considering what happens to other people for saying a lot less they should ban his dumbass from TV. The guy is an idiot. Why have people ever watched him? Damn str8 everybody is alienating him............in this country.......better yet in this situation.........as far as the majority see it if you are not against what he said, you are racist. I personally don't see it that way..........but that man more than any of us understands why his career is finished. He knows this game...........he WAS a part of it.
Between O'Reilly, IMUS, Limbaugh, Hannity, and Van Susteren...............this is the worst news ever. It's all havin a twist put on it by stations or the person tellin you the news is a friggin drug addict. But yet those same drug addicts talk crap bout people doing the same things they do behind closed doors. Other people get caught.......go to jail.........they get caught and they use their connections (the ones they have BY NOT DOING THERE JOBS) to get out of it.

if CERTAIN WORDS are off limits for broadcasting over the air waves...BAN THEM for ALL who use it. if your position on "who the rules apply to" depends on the color of the person saying them...then you should be asked if you enjoy being a racist and apply racial criteria to everything you hear or see.
some people on here act like they never saw or heard the show before...that makes you an execllent example of an arm chair expert, sitting in judgement and making an ass of yourself to those who followed this shock jock's career over the years.
he had more liberal media types on his show than all other guests combined...they knew his style and kept coming back...i loved the way Imus made asses of the morons at Newsweek who appears alomost DAILY on the show...one of the WORST "news" publications on the planet. funny how those jackasses sat on their hands until AFTER Imus was dropped to release a half hearted statement.
Even funnier that regualr guest such as Tim Russert (guested on the show every week for over a decade - called a fatso), Chris Mathew (called the spitter) John Kerry (endorsed by Imus on 2004 and riduculed as a moron), Bill Clinton (endorsed in his run - but blasted in person when Imus was awarded the broadcast award in the mid 90s), Bill Richardson (fatso and thumb sucking moron - as described by Imus) and Harold Ford Jr. all REFUSED to comment when the chips were down. They had no problem appearing on the show to get there liberal message amplified to the morning audience.
Imus was a liberal shock jock who got hung out to dry by his own peers.
Liberals eat their own and screw themselves out of a morning platform that dwarfed the MSNBC prime time rarings...thanks brother AL...the gift that keeps on giving.
btw: brother Al refused to apologize to the innocent Duke Lacrosse guys this morning...I guess his brand of "racism" pleases liberals in comparision.

Thought it was pretty stupid what he said, but seems BS to me that he would actually get cancelled for it. He apologized and the girls accepted his apology. Don't see what the big deal is anymore. Everyone sticks their foot in thier mouth once in a while, and most of us don't have to speak for hours at a time on the air. I'm guessing I probably wouldn't last ten minutes without getting in trouble myself...lol.
