I saw this at the last two races they pumped the motor and the saturday measured the top wing. I think they test the fuel after qualifying. He must have ruffled some feathers. After all he owned March.

Gee, let me guess... you must be a Schatz fan.
Fenders are like vacuums... they both suck.

Word has it that those MOPAR's that he's running are making some unbelievable HP numbers and cost a bit more than most engines out there...

I'll tell everyone in here what it is, remember this is top secret info here: They are running so good because,
1.They have a great motor program, with a crew that is giving Joey a beautiful car everynight.
2.Joe has not made too many mistakes and stays out of trouble!
3.Kasey Kahne is devoted to this team and will do whatever it takes to win this years title.
4.The season is still early and some drivers have not even begun to heat up, just wait a few more weeks when the schedule gets tougher. Not to mention that Saldana and Schatz a tough right now what happens when they hit a short slump?? We'll see either way it's shaping up to be a great season!!

That is a sign he is doing well. They need to check those cars that are running up front and others randomly. That is the only way to keep them honest.

It's a valid quetion considering that Evernham motorsports was caught cheating in Nascar. Now whether Kasey Kahne knew about that cheating and has brought it to his sprint car team is highly unlikely. Whenever someone wins a bunch of races, the first thought is that they are cheating. It happens all the time. See Danny Lasoski and traction control. Go Brian/Cris!

The Outlaws are going to have to limit bore size (at least to a standard block) or ALL their teams will be running oversized/long blocks and turning insane rpm before they know it.

Hey 71fan, remember when Danny ran second to Lance at the National Open? Lance came from about 13th and him and Danny were almost the only cars to pass anyone. I asked Danny what happened after the race and he said, "His traction Control worked better than mine". The track was lousy and the cars finished close to where they started in the top ten if I remember right and back then everyone had traction control. An Outlaw driver told me about being at DEI and seeing how they could hide it in their cars down there, it wasn't just the Outlaws using it, trust me. Take It Easy....

I agree traction control isn't so much of an issue anymore because so many teams already have it, which is why it should probably just be legalized so MSD can start selling it for $500... that way budget teams can afford to have it as well.
The real difference between winning and losing right now is rpm however. The age of the five race (or less!) motor is upon us unless the Outlaws act quickly. The longer they wait the more it's going to hurt. Mopar and Chevy factory support is only expediting things. It's bad enough they drag race off the front row in the features, having to change motors after every race like drag racers is even worse.

They need to mandate nothing but bone stock 283s from 1955 chevies only. That way everyone will have the exact same thing and therefore run the same slow speeds. The races would be especially close and competitive too. The engine dealers could still charge $50000 each for them since car owners have no problem spending insane amounts of money as long as it's on a small block chevy.
The hopeless desire to outrun Bud Grimm's Fords is
why central PA became the toughest place to race on
the planet. Even the KING couldn't run with Casey
Luna's Fords on a tacky track. It's a crying shame
that current car owners failed to notice.

If you all will look back, everybody that RICKY WARNER works for does this. Look back at the World of Outlaws new golden boy, Donnie Shazts last year. He won the Woo title, he dominated most of the year with Ricky Warner as crew cheif. This year the Shatzs team thought they did not need him. He went to Joey and now look at him. Ricky Warner is probably one of the sharpest guys out there on fuel and also setups. The guy is just pretty sharp.

Anybody who can make a damn Dodge run that good and finish races I take my hat off to them. Hell when I had a Dodge I celebrated when I got it started on a cold or wet morning. I always left the ignition key in it and figured if they were a good enough mechanic to get it started they could have it. All kidding aside Joey Saldana much like his dad is a fine race driver and comes from an exceptional family. I think every good team will bend the rules in the gray area. It makes the racing more interesting, like Smoky Yunich says its only cheating if you get caught. When you run up front consistently you will be accused of cheating sooner or later. Bud Hunnicutt

I do remember that race Mike, The atmosphere at the Grove that night was unbelievable! Must be those late race passes for the win that work out in Posse favor, lol! See Donnie Krietz and Steve Kinser. Go Brian/Cris!

Fortunately for me I've not seen too many of those passes at the Grove but that weekend there were TWO. I think the night before was the night that Danny had 'em covered and ran into nephew Brian who had spun very late in the race, also taken out was Jonathan Allard who was passing Freddie down the backstretch when that happened. That has to be the single best EVER first start for a racer at the Grove, I don't think he made the A after that. Oh yeah, if you remember the lead the King had and then Mr. Schatz came to a stop on the backstretch awful close to the pit gate, arghhhh. I do remember it going the other way too, oops, lol.
The Grove to me was always electric come Outlaw time, the atmosphere there is to be envied around the country, I truly miss it. The good times in the parking lot before the race were only topped by the race, it was that much fun. Heck, any time spent with Van May is a bonus as well and hearing some of Al Consoli's stories were pretty good also. History and the Grove are deep and my memories from that place will always be treasured, even that one lousy night, c'est la vie. Take It Easy...

I recall reading (Goodnight Jim Simmons wherever you are) there were two drivers who won in their first visit to Williams Grove. Opperman and Sammy

I wonder how many WoO cars are actually running 410 engines?
I wonder how many are actually running something bigger?
Steve is probably correct when he says it takes more than $500,000 to run for the championship. That MIGHT cover engine costs for the year.
