Advantage Racing Development has come to terms with California's Nick Green to run the entire USAC National Sprint Car pavement schedule for the 2007 season. The 20-year old Green, son to former World of Outlaws star Tim Green, will be piloting a Beast Chassis with sponsorship from San Leandro, California's Moeller Brothers Body Shop. Green will run as a teammate to 2005 National Sprint Car Hall of Fame Rookie of the Year Brady Short in the Lucas Oil Products #2B.
Green, nicknamed the "San Jose Sensation", completed a very successful karting career before beginning in sprint cars in 2005. During his rookie season Green competed in the California Asphalt Sprint car Association (CASA), becoming the first ever rookie to win and qualify fast time in a CASA event. He won the Rookie of the Year title and finished a close second in the Championship chase, finishing in the top ten in all 16 races including 14 top five finishes. Green finished his rookie season by competing at the USAC's PRI Sprint and Midget Classic in Scott Benic's #3B Beast, qualifying in the top ten and racing very competitively until a late race tangle.
During the 2006 season, Green competed on a limited basis with the USAC Western States series, where he set a new track record and won a main event at the Altamont (CA) Raceway Park. He also competed on dirt with the NCMA where he won his first main event at the Chowchilla (CA) Speedway. The end of the '06 season saw Nick compete at the Terre Haute USAC National event in the Lucas Oil #12B before solid top ten finishes at Irwindale's Turkey Night and the PRI Sprint and Midget Classic.

It really brings back memories of the #14 car with Nick's dad Tim at Baylands.

Good luck Nick. Maybe some day I will drag my ass to a pavement race like I keep saying I might so I can see you live and in person but it might be a while. Hopefully you will run some local dirt because that will definitely speed up the process :-).

How about a 1979 picture of Tim Green in the Jensen 55.
