Dear Friend:
I would like to update everyone on behalf of my Dad Doc Lehman at once to everyone who has emailed and called the past several days about my sister Brianne and thank everyone profusely on behalf of Mom & Dad for their outpouring of support and prayers.
My sister began suffering kidney failure on Thursday (her 16th day in ICU) and early Friday morning a small particle dislodged from her damaged aortic heart valve and made its way to her right eye causing prolonged severe pain for many hours. The particle entered into her right eye and caused permanent blindness.
In order to avoid further damage to other organs the surgeons performed emergency open heart surgery early Saturday morning that was to last four hours. It lasted over 10 hours. Due to complications with her heart and lungs the surgeons were unable to close her back up. Since late Saturday afternoon she lies in critical condition on full life support.
A dangerous surgical procedure is scheduled for early Monday evening. All I can say it will be critical.
Very critical.
Dad asked me to ask a special favor from everyone and please offer your prayers and positive energy to Brianne Tuttle at this time. Dad also asked that you include her mother, Carol, husband Dan, who is a racer, and sons Hunter & Beau in your prayers.
The following is my own thoughts:
I would also like to humbly and desperately ask for your prayers for my sister Brianne. She is only 27 and a mother, wife & daughter.
Please also keep Mom & Dad in your thoughts. They have been at the hospital for four straight days and three nights now and since 3:00 PM today the nurses and cardiologist have been trying to get them to go home for some rest. They have literally not slept in three nights and the fourth is approaching. Dad mentioned to me a short time ago they may come home in an hour and grab a shower and four or five hours sleep and head back up.
