Dennis was a fun character and will be missed around the races. He loved sprint car racing. I don't think there was many a Friday or Saturday at Chico where I didn't see him or Joanie enjoying themselves with their friends. Today this sport lost a true fan. Always sad to hear news like this. Dennis is another one of those faces that I recognized but never got to know by name. What little I do know about him has already been confirmed by others - a very true race fan. Rest in peace and best wishes to all who were close.

Dennis was 54 years old, way too soon to leave us. I can't believe that he is gone. I'm going to miss seeing Dennis at the races at Chico and Marysville.

Joanie wanted me to thank everyone for all their kind words and I believe that we're planning a memorial at mini-gold cup to honor Dennis.

Dennis, this buds for you!

WOW I can't believe it! I met Dennis and Joannie in '97 at Champion Speedway in Carson City. They came up to watch her brother "Mad Dog" Chuck Maddox race the USAC sprint car show. We hit it off right from the start, and that started our tradition of meeting up at the races, and supplying room and board to each other(them if I was going to Chico/Marysville, and me if they were coming up to Reno/Carson City) Dennis and Joannie's house is a sprint car lover's dream house,(Linkletter Museum as Capt. Safety once called it) with vintage pix and actual sprint car parts throughout, and Joanie as your guide, telling a story or reliving a memory from each and every piece. Truly one of a kind people, the kind that the world needs more of.... Rest in peace Dennis my friend, and have a cold one waiting for me when we meet again, at God's racetrack....GODSPEED                                            photo from Chico in 2004.
