Me and my two boys attended Calistoga and had an outstanding evening on Saturday. The stands were standing room only and everyone was in a great mood. The fans actually stood up a cheered when hot laps started because they were so excited to see non-wing racing return. A heard numerous comments like "the racing is so much better without wings". It would have been great to see a socal racer win the main event but the Keading's and Hockett put on a great show. We can't wait for next year!!

I also want to say congratulations to Henry Clarke who won his heat on Saturday. How is that for a kid only driving sprint cars for one year!!

Yes it did seem like all of the race fans enjoyed the non-wing action on both nights. One of the highlights on Sunday was Tim Kaeding's interview following his third place finish in the main event. TK stated that he really enjoyed racing non-wing and he felt that it was better racing compared to the wing shows. Hats off to TK.

Racing was awesome, and the scenic track is like nothing I have ever seen. The fans were pumped, and the wine tasting expo on Sat. was a treat (for my wife). It was awesome to see Leroy Van Connet, and Jimmy Boyd as I loved watching those guys at Ascot when I was a kid. Sat. race was the best all year, and the midget race was unreal as well. Glad I made the trip, and look forward to next years race. Well, got to get car ready for Wagsdash, and USAC this week, see everyone there.

As has been said many times before, if you didnt go you should have! The only thing I cant comment on was food in the concession stand (our pit was well stocked) but everything else was absolutely top notch awesome! Even the darn snake in the pit just added to the excitement of the weekend!

The race had an old time feel to it. With the low crash wall around the back stretch you could see trees and the golf course. Watching the cars get pushed off from the pits was interesting as well. I am used to Ventura where you have to get pushed up to the grid and wait for your turn. At Calistoga it was like back out and the truck comes right to the car!
