Will there be camping at Calistoga for the USAC races on Labor Day weekend? Also, will they allow a camp fire in an enclosed fire pit?
Coming up:
Jan. 31st - AMA SuperCross at Pac Bell Park (CA)
March - WOO shows in Cali

Rather than deal with rumors and hearsay posted here, why don't you just call the track?

Yep as of two weeks ago it was sold out, but I think Patty said there might have been a few spots left in the fiesta center. I'd call asap though.

Here's an alternative if the fairgrounds is full. We camped there many years ago and it was great. Haven't been there for quite some time so I'm not sure what it is like now.
Calistoga Ranch Campground
In this 167-acre wooded park with 150 campsites for tents, RVs (full
hookups), and trailers, amenities include an Olympic-size swimming
pool, a fishing lake, hiking trails, picnic areas, restrooms with
showers, a laundry, and a snack bar. 580 Lommel Road, Calistoga
(southeast of Calistoga off the Silverado Trail on Lommel Road).
707/942-6565.

Actually, I was trying to help; and as others have pointed it, the campground MAY be sold out.
But a LOSER(your signature) like you thinks that an offer to help is a "know it all" remark..
And by the way, does a LOSER know the difference between "no' and "know"?
I'm a little bit amazed that people don't take the direct route to an answer, rather than posting a query on a general forum; so I bet that he ends up calling the track, anyway........LOSER

Easy there Chuck....you're playing with fire there. You'll just have to trust me on that one. I've known you for a long time Chuck and I agree with you most of the time but we diverge here. You've given similar responses to questions I've had and I pretty much let it roll off my back but I think that someone coming in here and asking a question that is not trying to start rumors or stir up shit is perfectly OK. This is a community forum and FOR THE MOST PART many of us are more than happy to help. JMO - do you still love me :-)?

Ricci49, your right it must have been a long time since you have been there. The camp ground is no longer. It is now a high end resort that we where a part of building about 6 years ago. Low end rooms I think start around $600.00 a night up to around $5,800.00. The only other alternative I can think of that is close is Bothe-Napa state park. Park is about 4 or 5 miles south of Calistoga.

I can see how the Motorhome/RV lot is sold out but all I have is a tent and a truck. I'm sure their will be space to camp. If not, I will just put up my tent on the property somewhere!!!

I hope your kidding. All those places are no where near the track.
The past few years, the track let people camp all around turn 1 & 2. Did something change? Did they limit the camping area? I sure hope not as I have a group coming up to tailgate, camp, watch races and wine taste. All we have is a few tents so we may have to be creative and find a spot somewhere on the grounds to camp.
