What gives? It was $10,000 last year.

I hear they are behind on payments for their state of the art restrooms.

The hopeless desire to outrun Bud Grimm's Fords is
why central PA became the toughest place to race on
the planet. Even the KING couldn't run with Casey
Luna's Fords on a tacky track. It's a crying shame
that current car owners failed to notice.

The Leiby's don't like paying that kinda jack for a sprint race(hence no outlaws). Heck the Kenny Weld memorial is still only 5k to win. It's a shame that the best track in central PA, a track that is packed every week, can't step up and have some really big $$ races. Look at what Port Royal does with the Dream Race(30G to win 1G to start). There's no reason they couldn't have something like that at Lincoln.

Port paid $7K on Saturday night and Williams Grove was scheduled to pay $10K had they not gotten rained out. All other shows were $5K to win. I believe the question with Lincoln only paying $7K was in response to last years purse, which matched Williams Grove at $10K. I think everyone would like to see rising purse's, or at least no reduction in them.

I bet if they like the increased purse, then they ought to LOVE the increased ticket prices!!

Does an increase in purse guarantee a more competitive, exciting race? just curious.

To answer your 2nd question: absolutely not. All of us that go to Williams Grove already know this. The weekly $13 show($3000 to win) is usually a much more exciting race then the $30 Outlaw show($10,000 to win), but the quality of drivers is much better when the Outlaws are here. Also, the crowd is usually bigger. I obviously don't speak for everyone, but I would pay an extra $1-2 a ticket to see the purse increased $2000 across the board. If you can't cover an extra $1-2 a week to support your local tracks and drivers, you should not be spending your time worrying about the frivolous world of auto racing, you obviously have more serious things to concern yourself with.
