Knoxville Raceway Tickets to Help Attica Rebuild
June 2, 2008 – Knoxville, Iowa – Knoxville Raceway will donate a portion of each ticket sold during the World of Outlaw's event this weekend at the historic track. The two day event on June 6 and 7 is expected to draw as many as 20,000 spectators and fans for two great nights of racing.
"When unfortunate things like this happen we must all be prepared to step in and help where we can." Stated Bob Riggen, Board President. "One of our constant objectives is to benefit the economy and residents of Marion County and this is just one small way in which we can help."
Attica, a small unincorporated town in Southern Marion County, was hit by an F2 tornado late last week which destroyed the town's Fire House, and several homes. Knoxville Raceway will also set up an area where spectators may donate as well.
The World of Outlaw's event begins at 6:45 pm this Friday and Saturday. This will be the Outlaw's last stop in Knoxville before the 48th Annual SuperClean Knoxville Nationals in August. Tickets can be purchased on line at www.knoxvilleraceway.com or at the Knoxville Raceway ticket office.

Driving up to the races from Missouri saturday we were shocked to see all the damage. From 2- 3 miles south of town on Hwy 5 every house, out building or barn was damaged. Trees and power lines down everywhere. One mobile home was in a pond, I understand a mother and her children rode it there, and escaped. Nationals attendees may remember Attica as the town where you turn to go kin folks restaurant. Kudos to the fair association for this move.

My guess is that it will go directly to the city of Attica............ That way it all gets where it need to go and not parts taken out for ORG. fees etc... It's just a guess ....

The Red Cross, with all of its good points was sure proven to be a fraud on 9-1-1 with the collection and final distrubution of the money.
At least, Attica is close enough to Knoxville that the powers to be of Knoxville Raceway can assure that there will be no fraud,

i agree with that. it takes a lot of research and then some to determine what charities do/dont mismanage their money or have all out corruption.
so its really really cool of knoxville raceway to help attica like that. stuff like this makes a huge difference for the world we live in as well as the sport. go knoxville raceway. and speaking of things like this - i was thinkin of buying the prelude race tomorrow on ppv. got most of the yardwork done thought it would be a good way to relax and see some racin...............however i was unaware that all or majority of proceeds went to the victory junction gang. man that is really cool of tony stewart and the other nascar guys who support it. its a great cause worth contributing. have had a few friends who had close relatives with chronic afflictions. one of em i told about this race - she had never heard of it before. her brother has - i think it is autism. but now their family is looking into the camps and they gonna get the race on ppv tomorrow too. cool stuff. cool race. and a great cause. both knoxville and the prelude. this dirt track fan salutes you both!

if you are interested in helping a child through racing, next week, in Sedalia, the WoO Sprint Cars will be racing the MRMF race which is for the Michael Ross Memorial Foundation and its giving to a similar camp in Michigan.
Cup drivers will be in modifieds painted like IROC cars, past winners have included Clint Bowyer
