(The views and opinions expressed in the Big J Report are the independent opinions of The Report and do not need to be taken too seriously)

410s (19 Cars)

Welcome Mat
Empty red carpet this weekend for new cars. Bronson Maeschen (96) back up for another week. Brooke Tatnell in the Barstad 1 for the 1st week this year.

MIA
Lynton Jeffrey, Clint Garner (no motor yet), The Dude, Wade Nygaard, John Miller, Billy Alley, Jack Dover

VIP
LDA24 and family joined the elite company this evening. Wertz, BT24, and a little J absent this evening.

Time Trials (1 lap each)
Dobmeier (13) went to the backup car AGAIN after hot laps as there continues to be a problem with the motor for the Huset's car.

Henderson (D1, 4th car out) set quick time at 10.948 with an average speed of 123.310 MPH. Winters (23w) was 2nd quick with a 11.037. Rest of the field hitting the 16 car heat invert: Schliemann (4), Peters (57x), Dobmeier, Bakker (11x), Maeschen, Lambertz (12L), Meyer (1w), Cressman (56), Jones (9M), Ballenger (2D), Tatnell, Runge (28), Vogelaar (33), DeWall (16).

Time Trials Grade: C; with all the ruts and bumps in the track especially into turn 3 and turn 1. A sign of things to come throughout the event.

Heats (Top 8 Inverted from TT, All cars to the A with Top 6 Inverted in the A)
Starting Positions in Parenthesis

Heat 1 Finish: Tatnell (2), Meyer (4), Vogelaar (1), Jones (3), Schliemann (7), Dobmeier (6)/ Henderson (8), Maeschen (5), Rosenboom (#6, 9th), McGillivray (#101, 10th)

Heat 1 Notes: A mostly single-file affair with the now monsterous rut into turn 1 that wouldn't let anyone enter the turn on the high side. Everyone on the bottom with most of the passing coming at the start.

Heat 2 Finish: DeWall (1), Runge (2), Ballenger (3), Cressman (4), Lambertz (5), Peters (7)/ Bakker (6), Winters (8), Bicket (#17B, 9th)

Heat 2 Notes: Quite possibly the worst heat race in the history of 410 heats at Huset's. Peters was the only car to pass another and that came at the start as well.

Heat Grades: F; the 1st heat race looked like a barnburner compared to the 2nd and the 1st heat was pretty awful. The track was crap with ruts and bumps everywhere around the track. The grader was thankfully brought out during intermission.

B Feature (Top 4 Tag the A)
No B Feature with all 19 cars starting the A

B Feature Grade: N/A

A Feature (25 Laps)
Starting Order: 12L 13 57x 4 1w 56 9M 2D 1 28/ 33 16 D1 11x 96 23w 6 101 17B

Initial start was atrocious. Dobmeier on the outside must have thought he could come down on Lambertz until he was on the infield because he tried pinching him down, except Lambertz did nothing but held his line. Dobmeier got spun around to the top of turn 4 with Schliemann, Runge, Winters & Cressman with nowhere to go but into one another. Winters' crew changed a Jacobs ladder but it wasn't completely fixed so he stopped on the frontstretch after the red. Dobmeier's crew was in the middle of changing a front axle and all ready got their 3 laps after the yellow was replaced the red with the field in order. So they got more laps and finally completed the switch after about 7-8 laps when it should have been the 3 in the "rule book." Winters and Schliemann did not restart.

The starting order got re-jumbled and Peters took the point from outside the front row and set a nice pace until he got into lapped traffic and lost his rhythm. Henderson was coming up through the field pretty fast and the 2 battled at the midway point for a good battle for a few laps with Henderson taking the lead on lap 13 and he wouldn't look back even with a few late cautions. One of the cautions happened on the frontstretch when Bakker took out Lambertz's front end battling for 4th with the latter not happy one bit at all. Peters led laps 1-12, Henderson 13-25.

Finish: D1 57x 1w 1 13 9M 16 2D 101/ 33 96 56 12L 6 17B 28 23w 4

A Feature Grade: B; the track turned into a pretty good one with a fast low and high side in both corners. Just unfortunate that Dobmeier decided to take out a few of the very fast cars at the start. Dobmeier definitely gets the "assist" of the night to the eventual winner.

360s (17 cars)
Rosenboom starts on the front row yet again (by the aid of a scratch in Lane Brenden) and checked out without a challenge even though Droescher led the 1st lap. The Report is getting pretty sick of seeing the 27 start upfront in the heats and the features (with the exception of the 1 race last week), but that's the system's fault and not anyone else's.

The heavy track with the ruts eventually took a toll on the 17B of Ryan Bickett, causing his right rear to fly off coming off of 4 and up and over the catch fence and into the crowd at a pretty good pace. Very scary moment with people trying to take cover close to the track, but fortunately no injuries were reported. VERY weird weekend with a front clip flying over Highway 14 at Knoxville into the Dingus parking lot and now a right rear into the crowd at Huset's.

FOAW: The Report would give it to the D1 but he's already proven he can't whip the Outlaws asses the last few years on tour. So officially no FOAW tonight.

Crowd Pleasing Moment: Getting to see a Wolfgang hit the track at Huset's again. Doug's kid, Robbie, was in the Barstad 360 and looked a little afraid of the wall, and rightfully so, for a young kid like him. Give him a few weeks at the track to get comfortable and it should be interesting what he can do.

WTF 1A: Dobmeier's move to start the feature as stated above.
WTF 1B: The 13 crew getting all night to change the front axle with the yellow in the air. Nothing against the 13 team, but you gotta wonder why they go so much time when others have not in the passed.

WTF 2: Bickett's right rear flying into the crowd. Never seen that happen in my lifetime at the dirt track.

"Home of the Professionals" Moment of the Night: Giving Dobmeier's crew all the time to fix their car.

Head Scratcher: Bakker taking out Lambertz down the frontstretch. The Report can think of a few other times the 11x has been the cause of a few accidents in the last few years now after another incident…

Thumbs Up: Huset's safety crew. They are very underrated and do an outstanding job and get to the scene right away of an incident. There was a fuel leak after a 360 wreck and they had it under control right away. They were immediately there for the tire in the stands as well. Great job to you Jay Masur and crew!

Thumbs Down: To Henderson doing a victory lap when there were people still trying to cross the track on the backstretch. Leave the wheelies to TK out on the left coast.

Prime Mover: Henderson and Bakker coming up through the field. Don't know where they started after everything got jumbled up and a new order for the restart. But both came from a good distance back.

Trophy Queen Grade: Didn't get a great look, but it wasn't the same as last Sunday so it can't be another A as was given last week for those 2 fine broads.

Stat of the Night: Its more like 70 more wins until catching McCarl, not "60 some more wins" as was reported in victory lane. Congrats on getting that ever impressive 6th career 410 win, that's 2 hands worth now.

Hey Big J.....Nice Report, but I would have to disagree with u on Henderson getting the Thumbs Down...Don't like him? I would give the thumbs down to the Husets officials for letting people cross the Track when there were still cars on it. I think Henderson deserved a victory lap after how many cars he passed to win.

Also, If you happen to be a friend of Doug Clark then tell that grumpy POS to smile when he takes pictures in victory lane....shouldn't make a difference who won. Get sick of going to the website and seeing him act like he doesn't want to be there in the first place. If he don't like it, I'll flag for him and at-least not act like a 5 year old kid who doesn't get his way. Thanks

11x finished 3rd in 410 feature. Gregg thought he was past the 12L and didn't see John (right rear hit left front). Gregg is one of the cleanest drivers on the track. Apologies were offered after the race. Chalk it up to a racing incident.

Thanks for the report big j...is the replay gonna be on kelo again? I didn't find one on their website from last week, but it would be interesting to see the start between 13 and 12 from tonight. Nygaard was in 2nd place for most of the NOSA race in Devils Lake, ND last night and had an incident with race leader Casey Mack with 5 to go and they both went to tail end of the lead lap cars. Not sure if Mack checked up going into corner, but Wade got into him and they both spun out. Typical freight train racing on the bottom... They both continued to finish, so not sure why Wade didn't show up at Husets, as he left immediately after the races were finished.

How dare Lambertz not get out of the great ones way on the start. He should know that Dobmeier owns that track and everyone should get the f**k out of his way. It was his $2500 to win.

I heard Nobody practiced Lasoski's car at Knoxville a couple weeks ago on a Friday night.

I guess Lasoski hates him real bad also.

What do you have against Henderson in the first place. Please explain so that all that read can understand why you can justly call him a nobody. Just sounds like and old case of someone who is pissed they never made it as a racer.

All you have to do to Wertz is say Henderson and he reacts like he missed his turn with the anal probe. He's been that way since the original Hoseheads board, I know it has been difficult for him to observe Justin's successes. Mighty small way to go thru life, at least his spelling has improved......

Gonna have to say it again. If you don't like the comments of the Report or the responses given by the usuals... don't read or respond to it then. Simple as that. Pretty sure I'll be able to manage losing spot1 and his typical dbag remarks.

hell i dont know jack shit about husets. raced there a few times in the sprint car game - lol. well a few thousand times - but i like how that track is set. the vids i seen of it look real racy too.

but i really like this report. its cool to have such documentation of both knoxville and husets here on hoseheads. i mean same night you can read all this stuff - and they are good reads. i like how both are done too. the j report is cool and entertaining and opinionated and str8 to the point. bill w's is the same way and cuts to the chase. both are awesome.

why no pennsylvania stuff on here like it? and no i aint talkin bout the misguided cockroach report either.....i mean something that would reflect the views of multiple people - not just one bias miserable fool who hates visiting drivers.......
