We at Project X Marketing still have openings to take on new marketing clients for the 2008 race season. So far 52 drivers, in addition to the Fastrak Midwest Crate Late Model Series and Montpelier Motor Speedway in Montpelier, Indiana have entrusted their sponsorship work to Project X Marketing in 2008, and we have enjoyed a very strong success rate. What are the benefits to joining team PX Marketing?

*Track/Event/Series Promotion

*Sponsor Hunting(We do ALL your sponsorship seeking)

*Discounts on Websites, T-Shirts, Hats, Cards, Diecasts, Window Stickers and Temporary Tattoos

*Driver Portfolios

*Business Cards

We do all this and so much more for just $150, so if you are interested please contact me(Chris) at (763)742-6205 or via e-mail at Projectxracemarketing@yahoo.com

Please do not disregard this as spam. Please contact me and I will give you a list of references to prove how serious myself and my staff are. Thank you for your interest and I look forward to talking to you.

Sorry Chris, but it is spam. You your business is as successful as you say then surely you can afford to advertise in a more appropriate manner.

We have enjoyed success, however I also have people to pay and virtually as much in expenses as income. The other side of the coin is that we are likely not going to take clients for 2008 beyond the middle of June, so at this time of year paying for an ad makes no sense for me. When we start taking 2009 clients if things go well I fully intend to do some ad work with all the sites I visit.

C'mon, John, we know that Allen Holland does this message board for fun.

Income? Profit? Professional?

Why should Chris spend his money, when he can ride on the back of someone who is in business professionally, does things the right way, and respects what others have done...? Yes, Allen makes money here, but he does it by selling ads!

And a business not looking for new customers? Well, to me, that's kind of like a shark - if it's not moving forward, and looking for something new, it's gonna die.....Chris's company is more like a leech, if you ask me - looking for a free ride and nourishment that someone else provides....

IMO, that's one reason why one should choose to take their motorsport marketing business opportunity elsewhere....

Chuck - you're almost right. I've talked to Allan about advertising on the boards and he pretty much just refers everyone to Jeff AKA "Big Dog". There is probably a business arrangement between Alan and Jeff but as far as actually advertising on any of these boards Alan has nothing to do with it. I have advertised with Alan on the Hosehead's main page and it is incredibly inexpensive when you consider the amount of traffic that frequents the site.

As for the effectiveness of selling something via posts on the message boards I feel I have some insight there because of the calendar sales. I have no idea if I get a free pass because of the non-profit nature of the calendar biz but I can tell you that well structured posts on these boards and a good strategy for keeping them near the top is an effective way to sell racing related items. For every one person that posts there are at least 10 registered users that do nothing but lurk. These boards are powerful both from a potential business perspective and for the number of people that the information posted here reaches.

As far as Chris Kolstad's case goes here I don't know what the answer is. I can say that if I owned these boards and relied on the advertising revenue generated by them I'd probably yank posts like his that were in relation to a for-profit enterprise.

Chris - I agree with you whole-heartedly. But I also agree with Chuck. Hell the posts I make saying my photos have been posted are really nothing more than Spam. And you are correct, properly timed posts can really increase traffic at your site.

This issue is his statement "Don't disregard this as spam." Well no matter how you dress it up it is. trying to say it isn't is what gets on my nerves. There are people that advertise on hosehead's that they offer the same thing. Allen and Jeff both make money from those advertisers for the same product. So if they follow suit with this character then they both wind up losing money.

Last time he posted and was called out it was because it was a new business with only a handful of clients. Now he has a ton of clients but only needs to advertise until the end of June. I wonder what the next excuse will be.

Having recently been burned by a motorsports marketing company and most likely going to wind up in court in the near future as a result of another motorsports marketing companies lies, forgive me if I am a little jaded and find them suspect.

I will agree with you that yes, to an extent this is spam. A lot of people just in their screen names have some form of advertisement. I have heard from DOZENS of people like yourself that were burned by things like this before and I can give you a long list of people who will tell you that I am completely legitimate. Probably 90% of my clients have either met me in person or know where to find me on any given night, and the majority of them even know where my house is. As far as what I do, by my research there are 17 companies that I have found that do the same thing I do, and I have heard bad things about 10 of them. I have no interest in having that reputation, as I am a 22 year old man with a start up company that I would like to run for years and years to come.

As far as the advertisers on this board go, I will even go as far as to say if contacted by someone that does the advertising on this board I will GLADLY pay for advertising in August or September, when it proves to be a beneficial venture for me. By taking clients for too much longer, my job becomes more difficult simply for the fact that I have to accomplish more things in a shorter time period before I am out of time for the year.

Thank you again for at least reading this, and if you have a personal complaint with me please contact me about it and I will be happy to discuss it(Chuck??)

If someone can point the advertising director of this site in my direction, I will gladly purchase some advertisements. This board has proved to be a very marketable place for me and well worth my investment. Point them to me and I'll be on board!

Thanks guys!

Start by either calling or sending an email here - Allan may refer you to the ISP, but this is where I think you should start....
